In order to employ crude oil for boiler, diesel, gas turbine and/or rolling stock, various tests have actively been carried out, and the combustion of crude oil has been put to practical use for some fields.The utilization of crude oil chiefly depends on its lower cost as compared with heavy and light oils, although it involves a little dangerous condition.According to the test results on this condition, danger matters little and its countermeasure is very easy.

A large number of hydrogen sulfide removal processes have been developed and commercialized through the world. Recent tendency in this field is the development of dry purification processes utilizing a series of towers which are filled with pelleted iron oxide and liquid purification processes with organic catalysts, in which or ganic catalytic compounds are used as alkaline solutions to convert hydrogen sulfide to sulfur.
This is the review of all hydrogen sulfide removal processes including these new ones. Compared each other with flow-sheets.

Kinetics of pyrolysis of a variety of materials was studied by means of a thermal balance, in order to have a knowledge of primary stage of 'carbonization.
The degasification rate of cellulose was related to the degree of polymerization, and also to the amount of carbonized residues.Owing to an addition of a minute amount of salts to cellulose, the temperature of maximum decomposition was lower and the degasification rate was accelerated remarkably.
In order to analyse the degasification curve obtained by a thermal balance, theore-tical equations of degasification rates were deduced from several assumptions, and were compared with experimental results.
It was discussed the relation between the structure of pyrolyzed materials and the rate and the activation energies of pyrolysis.

At Coal Mine Research Center, Japan, we are studying the coking test by preheating of Japanese coals from 1962, using fluidizing preheater and 250kg test oven.As the results of these tests, foundamental mechanism which we can produce B.F.Coke from weakly coking coals and coking test by full scale coke oven are most important.
Luckyly, Kasei Kogyosho (Hokkaido Tanko-Kisen Co.Ltd.) has coke oven and Disco rotary kiln, therefore we can test of preheating coal treatment.In this report, we described the results about the test of transporting, mixing, handling and charging by Yubari Tokugo Bifun coal preheated at 200°C and that we obtained very good results with no troubles, no questions and no dangerous.
