The purpose of this paper is to clarify the signification of inventio (vidi lucem) in "the experience in Milan" in the Book VII of Confessions. Confessions, as we understand, aims at the interpretation of Scriptura. And this inventio also consists in the orientation of interpretation as follows. 1) The working of Augustine's mind shifts from the reading of libri Platonicorum on the basis of Scriptura, through videre lucem, to the correct understanding of malum. 2) The epistemic mode of the inventio is basically coincident with its mode of the interpretation in the Books X-XIII, i.e., the internal access to Truth (consulere veritatem), the response of Truth (dicere, docere), and the hearing of the voice in the self-disclosure of Truth (audire). The light-symbol in the beginning of the true interpretation peculiarizes the inventio. Here the phase-difference of light, to grasp the light itself (ch. 10) and to grasp by the light (ch. 17), means that of Truth, Truth itself as the unable-to-be-grasped (invisibilia) or the unable-to-be-defined (infinitum) and the operation of Truth as the clear statement, illuminatio, of the ground for interpretation. Through the phases of light, Augustine explains the inventio of the orientation of interpretation.

Das asthetische Urteil enthalt asthetisches Reflexionsurteil und asthetisches Sinnesurteil ("Erste Einleitung VIII"). Das erstere lasst sich im Satz "Dies ist schon" darstellen, und das letztere im Satz "Dies ist angenehm" ; in diesen Satzen zeigen beide Urteile keinen empirischen Begriff als Pradikat, sondern die Indexe, die jeweils den inneren Zustand des Subjekts feststellen. Deshalb fallt es schwer, den Unterschied zwischen den beiden Urteilen nur durch Vergleichung ihrer Satze klarzumachen Wir mussen nun die erkenntnistheoretischen Modelle von jedem Urteil deutlicher auffassen In seinen "Prolegomena" (§18-20) erklart Kant das Wahrnehmungsurteil im Vergleich mit dem Erfahrungsurteil ; das Wahrunehmungsurteil hangt sehr eng mit dem asthetischen Sinnesurteil zusammen. Es ist also naheliegend, gegenseitige Verhaltnisse zwischen dem Erfahrungsurteil, dem asthetischen Reflexionsurteil und dem asthetischen Sinnesurteil (=Wahrnehmungsurteil) zu untersuchen Dazu kann die Struktur der Funktion der Bestimmung, die den erkenntnistheoretischen Modellen der drei Urteile innewohnen, massgebend sein. Durch die Untersuchung uber die obenbesagten gegenseitigen Zusammenhange wird es nun klar, dass das asthetische Reflexionsurteil gleichsam die Zwischenlage zwischen dem Erfahrungsurteil und dem asthetischen Sinnesurteil (=Wahrnehmungsurteil) einnimmt. Ausserdem zeigt es sich, dass dieser "Zwischen"-Charakter des asthetischen Reflexionsurteils im zweideutigen, mamlich subjektiv sowie objektiv interpretierbaren Begriff von "Form" selbst seinen Ursprung hat, und zugleich dass auch die Bedeutung der "Form" beim erkenntnistheoretischen Modell des asthetischen Reflexionsurteils dadurch festgelegt wird.

A. Schmarsow beginnt seine Kunstbetrachtung mit der Frage, woher der Plastiker, Maler, Architekt in der ethonographisch und kulturgeschichtlich weit auseinanderligenden Kunstreisen immer wieder auf Kunstformen trifft, die, obgleich sie nicht dieselbe sind, doch dasselbe bedeuten. Die Losung dieser Frage wird nicht durch die geschichtliche Betrachtung der bildenden Kunste, sondern durch die systhematische Feststellung ihrer eigentlichen Gestaltungsprinzipien der bildenden Kunste vollstandig erreicht. Damit setzt Schmarow die menschliche Organisation als die organische Einheit in der Mitte seiner Theorie. Seine wichtigste Aufgabe ist zu erklaren, wie weit der volle Bewegungsapparat und der Bestand unseres Korpers die konstitutiven Merkmale des Kunstwerkes als Menshenwerkes bestimmt. Daher im Gegensatz zum A. Riegls Begriff des Kunstwollens, das als Merkmal der Stilentwicklung fungiert, bei Schmarsow fungiert das Kunstwollen als die Kraft, die das Korpergefuhl oder Raumgefuhl in die Kunste einwebt.

Nous observons de quelles manieres les Normands ont cherche et, dans un certain sens, trouve, a partir des travees rectangulaires de ses bas-cotes, le moyen de construire des voutes d'aretes horizontales avec le centrage facilement forme et qui ne laisse pas s'effacer les aretes a mi-chemin. Or les Allemands, comme le montre la cathedrale de Spire, ne sont pas arrives a la formation simple du centrage pour les voutes d'aretes horizontales a cause de leur sentiment tres strict d'espace et c'est peut-etre ce qui leur a fait appliquer les voutes d'aretes bombees. Mais il semble que, pour la nef centrale de Spire, les voutes d'aretes horizontales aient ete prevues au commencement. Les Allemands persistaient, du moins vers 1100, comme les Normands, aux voutes horizontales. Dans le haut moyen age, les voutes d'aretes horizontales avaient ete employees dans des cryptes et quelques autres espaces suplementaires, qui etaient en meme temps des lieus sepulcrals. Or la construction de ces voutes horizontales a demande une grande quantite de matieres pour le centrage, dont les main-d' oeuvres ont du engendrer une conception unique pour ces espaces. Et ce n'est pas par hazard que les premieres voutes d'aretes dans les nefs centrales de Caen et celles du projet de Spire sont horizontales, car les tombeaux sous ces deux voutes pourraient etre les indices que la forme horizontale des voutes et la notion du lieu destine aux morts avaient ete unis par l'intermediaire de cette conception specifique.
