JOURNAL FREE ACCESSThe factors which help the antigen power of kephalin kolloidchemically and intensify the reaction were researched in this experiment.
1) Tinctura aurantii, T. digitalis and T. valerianae increased slightly the complement binding reaction of leprous serum.
2) Phenol-alcohol and chloric acid phenol alcohol increased it, especially the latter remarkablly.
3) In a group of cyclopentanoperhydrophenanthren compounds, ......chol acid, chol acid sodium, glycocol acid, cholestexin, and ergosterin......cholesterin and ergosterin intensified the reaction.
4) Vitellin strengthened the reaction, but showed non-specific reaction. Egg albumin, egg globulin and kasein didn't produce any increased reaction.View full abstractDownload PDF (384K) -

JOURNAL FREE ACCESS1) The antigen of kephalin from bovine brain and lecithin from yolk decreased or extingishecl the reaction more remarkablly at 0°C than at 37°C, but with syphilitic serun it casued no decreased.

JOURNAL FREE ACCESS1) A histopathological observation of great auricular nerve was undertaken about 14 cases of obsolete Lepra nervosa by means of biopsy and autopsy.
2) About 9 cases of 10 who have incrassate nerves, lepra bacilli were found in the medullary sheath, axis cylinder and neurilenia nucleus of the nerve fibers.
3) About the changes of the nerve fibers, I found various views.
4) One petrified nerve was found.

JOURNAL FREE ACCESS1) A histopathological observation on great auricular nerve was undertaken with the five cases of the erythema nodosum leprosum and one case of acute infiltration, by means of biopsy.
2) The findings about the former were the foam tissue in the interstitial tissue includ ng many polymorphonuclear neutrophilic leucocytes, lymphocytes and granuriet to bacilli. But bacilli in the nerve fibers were generally rodformed.

1. Regarding the area of a leproma and the weight of the spleen, there are the following relations: -r 0.50, Fo F (1%)
2. In cases where the area and weight of a leproma, indicate the degree of the postmortem leprous lesion in the rat, the increase in the weight of the spleen stands in inverse correlation to the degree of the lesion. JOURNAL FREE ACCESSIIII. Method of test for the bacteriostatic action of hardly soluble substances on acid-fast bacilli.
1. To test the bacteriostatic action of lipids on tubercle bacilli, I have prepared solid media, using egg yolk, an ingredient of the medium as solbent.
2. Using this media, we can test the bacteriostatic action of citronerall and seraniol etc. against tubercle bacilli of the human and bovine type.

JOURNAL FREE ACCESSThe distribution of promin in blood and other organs of men and rabbits was examined after the intraveneous injection by which the promin level in blood was kept in the same degree after one hour. In the organs the promin level was highest after two hour, and the order was, internal organs, kidney, skin, blood, heart and lung. JOURNAL FREE ACCESSThe mucin media from bovine submaxillar gland after Nakamura and Endo supplied us no multiplication of both human and murine leprosy bacilli at the first, the second and the third generations after many cultivations.
