    1. The univalent chromosome of fluted, a primary monosomic of N. tabacum, may be designated as the F-chromosome. Then, normal carmine=23II+FII, and fluted carmine=23II+FI.
    2. The recessive type, coral, a derivative of fluted, is shown to have arisen by a modification of the F-chromosome, which may be represented by F-co. Hence, normal coral=23III+F-coII, and fluted coral=23II+F-coI.
    3. The de novo origin of a carmine-coral variegated type from fluted _??_×coral _??_ is described, and it is shown to depend upon the presence of a fragment of the F-chromosome, f-Co, containing the factor or factor complex for carmine as opposed to coral. Hence, normal carmine-coral=23II+F-coII+f-CoI, and fluted carmine-coral 23II+F-coI+f-CoII.

    1. The young basidium is binucleate in the primary stage. After the fusion of these two primary nuclei, the reduction division follows.
    2. All important phases of meiosis in higher plants are observed also in Agaricaceae.
    3. The mode of gemini-formation seems to be parasyndetic.
    4. The typical synaptic knot is seen within the nucleus.
    5. In diakinesis, a constant number of gemini is discernible.
    6. The spindle is of intranuclear origin, at each pole of which can be seen a centrosome.
    7. As a rule, the behaviour of heterotype chromosomes in separa-tion is irregular.
    8. Excepting Mycena haematopoda, homotypic division follows without passing into interkinesis, and gives rise to four daughter nuclei.
    9. Sometimes, a new mitosis takes place after entrance of the daughter nucleus into the spore, giving rise to a binucleate basidiospore.
    10. The haploid or gametic number of chromosomes of the eight species of Agaricaceae are determined as follows:
    Hypholoma fasciculare (HuDS.) FR. 2
    Pholiota sp. 2
    Tricholoma rutilans SCHAEFF. 2
    Cortinarius cinnamomeus L. 4
    Russula subfoetens W. G. SM. 4
    Pleurotus ostreatus JACQ. 4
    Coprinus micaceus B. 4
    Mycena haematopoda PERS. 6

    1) The embryosac-like giant pollen grain is produced in the anthers of the Hyacinth bulbs subjected to high temperature at about the stage when the reduction division of the pollen mother cells is going on, and further forced in the green house.
    2) It was experimentally proved that the formation of such embryosac-like giant Pollen grains is closely linked with the stage of the Pollen development, accompaniment of the abundant dead pollen grains and suitable temperature. If one of these three factors is omitted, no such an embryosac-like giant pollen grain is produced.
    3) It may be assumed that the “Necrohormone” in HABERLANDT'S meaning may act to form such embryosac-like giant pollen grains, if suitable temperature is applied.
    4) From the result of the present work the writer can not agree with the opinion of DE MOL, that the triploid Hyacinthus-plant is produced by pollination with the “diploid” pollen grain produced by so-called “physiological stimuli” of his meaning.
