In recent years, The angiograyhy is one of the most important method for the diagnosis and treatment of the vascular disease for the development of the vascular surgical field. The single technique is not satisfactory to obtain the movement of circulation, and therefore the sevial angiography is important to visualize succesionally the movement of circulation. We disigned the serial two cassette changing apparatus. The features is as follows : 1) The apparatus is simple constraction, automatic function and economical manufacture. 2) Can be used not only the vessels of lower extremities, but also of the upper extremities, the breast and the abdomen etc. 3) Can be easily connected with any type of X-ray apparatus. 4) Can be used two films of 10"×36"or 11"×14", one during the injection and the other a few seconds later. 5) Can be serially exposed at predetermined intervals.

The authors studied the management of the developer and fixing solution in order to make the density of images constant : In report I, study on the developer and fixing solution for automatic developing apparatus of hanger type (the secondary agent, and developer and fixing solution for Sakura Elema, Procomat, rapid) is reported. In report II, study on the developper (H-II), secondary agent (H-IIR), and fixing solution (F) for Fuji X-ray automatic developing apparatus is reported. And the comperative study on the efficiency of the two kinds of fixing solution (Fuji's and Sakura's) is reported also. In the report III, the developer of Sakura's, for which the density of secondary agent is not suitable, is examined and the good method of using this developer is reported.

In order to determine the tumor dose in lung tissue for radiotherapy, some factors of technique for the measurement were analysed. The tumor dose in lung tissue was determined by the value of transit dose based on the opposing pairs of filds. The results obtained were as follows : The present method offered that the tumor dose was directly utlized to the clinical case without the calculations related to the correction factor. The Tumor dose could be calculated from the transit dose through the water (standard error : ±2%). When the beam axis passed through the center of the tumor, the tumor dose was constancy in spite of the field size and ubiquity of the tumor.

The various kinds of tomography appartus has appeared having various movement machinary. The tomography has been used more and more for various field. However, the auantitative indication for the thickness of the transverse section has not been made, although it is necessary for the accurate use of tomography apparatus. The authors made for trial various kinds of chart and examined several apparatsus whose movement are different and the movement-angle of x-ray tube and the thickness of the transverse section. They found out the simple and common auantitative indication for the thickness of transverse section based on these results. Furthermore, they studied the blackihg of the photography by using charts.

Recently the x-ray apparatus has become highly atuomatic one and its operation has been simplified. FOR example, the mAs meter was removed and now mAs is pointed previously. In this case, radiographying time cannot be ascertained without check. Therefore, the author studies the most simple measurement of the time : he utilized a stand of grid sliding type which has been used for high-voltage radiography and deviced a simple measurement of the time based on the strobo image of the slit of this stand. Furthermore, he examined the measurement with the strobo image of fine line.

Recently, as a method of diagnosis of the thyroid diseases, area scanning by using I^<131> has been demonstrated, and many studies in regard to scanning procedure have been made. We compose the cross section drawing of the neck including the thyroid gland, and the size and the location of thyroid gland was configurated. Thus, I would like to recommed or I believe that this method is useful for routine clinical application.

In angiocardiography, the heart is pretty thick, while this angiography must be done in a very short time. Recently the permitted load of x-ray tube has been increased in quantity for continious photographing and the condition of angiocardiography would not be so strict. The authors examined time of exposure, the irradiated quantity, contrast of contrast medium and the method of indentification between the images whose contrast medium is different in density, in order to find the most suitable voltage for angiocardiography.

The redial treatment apparatus and radio isotope have been used more and more. However, fogs are often caused by faulty using these apparatus. So the authors experienced such a aase, in which fog is caused by radio isotope. They, using Pb intensive screen and fluorescent intensive screen, studied conperatively the degree of these fogs with phantoms of various size.

It is well known that the short-distance isotope unit is useful for treatment of head and neck and superficial lesions, and is convenient from the view point of protection problems of treatment head. However, in the short distance unit, the skin sparing effect is lowered due to electrons emitted from the source capsuel, cone and accessaries near the beam path. The surface dose distributions of ^<60>Co and ^<137>Cs gamma rays from the short-distance units were measured on following items, 1) Ratios of surface dose to maximum dept dose for various metals and their thicknesses. 2) Dependence of diaphragm-surface distance on surface dose distribution. 3) Dependence of filter lacation on surface dose distribution. 4) Dependence of field size on surface dose distribution. 5) Trial production of multi-leaf cone for ^<137>Cs unit. The following results were obtained. 1) The maximum depth dose for ^<60>Co was obtained at a depth of 3.8mm and for ^<137>Cs 1.2mm under the good condition. 2) 0.5mm copper filter for ^<60>Co and 0.25mm copper filter for ^<137>Cs were most effective for lowering the surface dose. 3) New producted multi-leaf cones for ^<137>Cs unit were very efficient for the lower surface dose.
