There have been few reports on the measurement of the safe light lamp in a dark room. Therefore, the author made a few experiments to study this measurement. It was concluded that the intensity of the safe lamp in a room 3.3 m in area, was about 11.5 lux. Other experiments with films were conducted to determine the relation of film and developer to fog, and a simple method was worked out to change the intensity of a safety lamp.

Many factors have been found to affect radiography quality. A few of the factors were studied and the following conclusions reached : 1. The relation between X-ray absorption dose of a filter and radiography quality : A filter composed of 0.5 mm Al + 0.05 mm Cu was found to be the most suitable for the purpose of decreasing the X-ray absorption dose and improving the radiography quality. 2. The relation between the front part of the cassette and radiography quality : The front part of the cassette made of Al proved to be the best from the view point of durability and X-ray absorption dose. 3. The relation between blende and radiography quality : When blende was used, in order to improve the radiography quality, it was necessary to remove the front plate of the cassette and place blende tightly on the screen. 4. The relation of density to the distance between blende and the screen : 5. The relation of fluorescent brightness to the distance between blende and the fluorescent screen : When the distance was 30 mm, brightness was maximum and there most desirable.

Using a low voltage radiography apparatus, the authors tried out a method for obtaining almost the same effect as that of high voltage radiography which latter has proved to have many advantages. Satisfactory results were to some degree obtained after making some fundamental experiments and applying them to clinics, using some adequate filters and voltage ranging between 80 kVp and 90 kVp, so called "Hard X-ray". The study owed much to the article by Prof. Koga, Tohoku Univ. which was written in the "Rinsho to Kenkyu", Apr., 1960.
