It will never make a satisfactory result to take a radiography of newborn babies in the same way to adults and infants. The actual state investigation, based on the answers of 287 facilities in Japan to our opinionaire, shows importance of the following factors. Namely, synchronization between newborn baby's respiration and X-ray exposure the baby's position and the fixation method, tomographying technique with a portable unit, attensions on the prevention of infection and so on. As a solution of these problems, thus, we developed a respiration-exposure synchronizer, a 45 degreeslant examination table and a handy electronic tube timer for a portable unit. The use of all these and a snap shot device shows a good result which is cover in this paper.

Standard apparatus of cephalography is preferably employed for the x-ray examination of the malposed teeth, the mandibular joint and so on, in oral surgery in recent years. Only one x-ray film is not able to be responsible for the interpretation of both bones and their surrounding soft tissues, though it may be required to be so. In general, routine high voltage technique is inadequate for this purpose. The reason being the density of soft tissues in too high to interpret details. This report deals with a significant technique of double exposure. The first exposure being made bg soft x-rays, the second, there following, being made by hard x-rays with contrast medium coated on the surface of the skin of the subject. Distinguish ability between bones and their surrounding soft tissues is clearly shown in this technique.

The present article deals with the technical or basic aspects of the arteriography of the lower extremity, using the KYOKKO US Differential Screen and an arteriographic experience in a consecutive series of 300 cases. Though the differential screen gave an excellent result on the equalization of the radiographic density throughout the lower limb in the Water-Limb-Phantom experiment, the proximal portion of the human limb tended to be somewhat underexposed. The abovementioned weak point in the differential screen, however, can be practically and effectively overcome by an additional injection of a small amount of the contrast medium for demonstration of the arteries in the groin and thigh, using the antiscattering grid.

Various methods have been taken so far to collect silver from fatigued fixing solution. But recently the metalic substitution method has become very popular. We, the members of Toyo Kogyo hospital, have studied the new method of collecting silver by using alumi-wool and we also examined the rebirth of its fixing ability. 1) The alumi-wool method makes it easy to collect silver and only little space is needed if the automatic flow method is employed. 2) Aluminum has good substitution effect and it can dispose greater amount of fatigued liquid. The defect of it is that its high substitution electric potential easily forms other materials. 3) Alumi-wool method makes it possible to reuse the fixed liquid which comes after collection of silver. Using it in procomat rapid will show 42% increase of film disposition.

Recent progress and popularization of radiotherapy of cancer are truely remarkable. Especially the development of high energy accelerator, such as a linear accelerator, enabled us to do more precise and efficient treatment. The out-put is quite high ane the penumbra is minimum. Moreover, the conputerization of the treatment-planning is now put to practical use. In spite of above-mentioned improvements of the radiotherapy, the another importanttechniques-positioning and fixation-seems to remain still in primitive stage. To secure the better positioning, the better fixation and the better reproducibility. We have developed several kinds of fixing devices as follows. I. Immobilizer for Head. I. Immobilizer for Head and Neck. I. Immobilizer for Tongue. I. Immobilizer for pelvis. I. Immobilizer for pediatrical use.
