Author evaluatied the two nuclides mixture Renogram using ^<131>I-Hippuran as the RPF material and ^<111>In-DTPA as the GFR material. And investigated the measuring method of RPF and GFR by a computer simulation using the excretion ratio in the urine. In RPF and GFR, it a good correlation was found between the two nuclides method and the single method.

The dose distributions for the interstitial implants using Ir-192 hair pins are analyzed by a computer and dosage table (mg Ra equivalent-hrs per 10 Gy (1000 rad)) to help the radiotherapist to plan the optimum arrangement are presented in this paper. The Dose Interval Area Rate was introduced in order to analyze the dose distribution. Dose Interval Area Rate indicates the change of the absorbed dose distributions for the distance from the implant plane. The basic absorbed dose, designated to mention the homogeneity of the absorbed distributions, is equal to"85% reference dose"(Paris system). The results obtained are as follows : 1) Treatment Distance (h, the distance between the implant and the treatment plane) is 3.5〜4.0 mm for planar implants. Therefore, the separation factor is different from the Manchester system (Ra-needle).-Table II. 2) There is a different of ±5% in the dosage for the common treatment area of the tongue cancer (8〜26 cm^2) between the Manchester system and the planar implant with hair pins.-Table I.

We developed a new Digital Subtraction Angiography (DSA) method by using the Fuji Intelligent Diagnostic X-ray System (FIDX) and a serial cassette changer. This method was used study to the cardiovascular system in more than 31 patients by the intravenous injection of contrastmedium, and the resultant subtraction images were achieved for many purposes with a high degree of diagnostic accuracy.

A new, simple pressure infusion system using air injection into an infusion bottle and"Sunny Holder"for retrograde urethrography are described. It makes not only an adequate flow rate of 30% contrast medium to obtain the best possible urethrogram, but also maintains constant intra-urethral pressure eliminating ominous complications.

At present, several types of CT scanners are used in radiologic diagnostic field. Even if the tube voltage of X-ray is about 120 kV, X-ray energy distribution in every CT scanner may be different because of various X-ray filters used, geometrical conditions of data collection and etc. Therefore these performance is not shown as the same. In order to accurately diagnose lesions from normal images by the use of CT scanners, Japanese Committee for Evaluating Performance of CT Scanners recommended the standardization of how to measure CT scanner's performance and how to use several phantoms for these tests ; noise, contrast scale, spatial resolution (high and low), absorbed dose, size dependency of CT number. These two years and half, many advices and discussions as to performance gave us some points to be corrected and improved. These points containing tests and some results of low contrast resolution were reported. The phantoms of xyron-bar-in-xyron have no X-ray energy dependency of CT value.

The evaluation standard of CT capacity was recommended in 1978 for the unification of performance evaluation method for CT scanner. In this paper methods using different type of phantoms are evaluated under the recomended standard. 1. The data taken from different phantom is not useful to compair CT capacity because there is few things in common between various types phtantoms and recommended standard. However, using phantoms provides useful approaches for routine maintenance and control of CT. 2. There are some big differences in the reported modulation transfer function curve. These are supposed to be due to the difference of measuring methods and processing data, in practical measuring there is no big difference, it requires careful consideration of measures. 3. The aluminum slope method for slice thickness measurment makes error bigger by using thin slices data from different phantom show diviation so that it requires farther investigation. 4. The recommended standard phantom has a simple structure except some articles which needs accuracy, also it is easy to assemble a recommended standard phantom and it satisfies purposes.

Radiation dose to the patients delivered by a CT scanner was evaluated using a different kind of dosimetry system and the following conclusions were obtained. 1. The radiation dose in the multiple slices could be calculated by cumulating each single dose and therefore the dose distribution curve was correctly obtained by a film dosimetry system in use of energy-matched film. 2. In calculating the radiation dose, the overlapping exposures should be considered because the dose across the scan plane for a single slice was widely distributed. A single axial dose and number of slices should be needed for the consideration. 3. The total radiation dose could be estimated by multiplying the number of slices and the area under a single dose curve. The dose was saturated by about 9 slices. To obtain a correct exposure dose, a long pencil-type ionization chamber was suitable, covering widely separated curve tails.

Compared with a conventional X-ray apparatus, CT equipment is constructced with many more parts and is greater in scale. As a consequence, it malfunctions more often. So we determined a periodic examination and of its items which is based on the experimence and on basic experiments carried out on three CT unit in our hospital. With our investigation of six hospitals, the downtime of the X-ray tube was 20〜60% and the same one for the computer was 30〜40%.
