In routine x-ray examination of the stomach, we are ordered to take a x-ray picture of the oesophagus, the double contrast of which is more desirable for screening detection. However, we can not always get a whole double contrast image of it, if usual methods are employed. In order to obtain the double contrast image of the oesophagus at all times, we have made such a device as illustrated in Fig.2. Barium meal and about 10cc/sec air supplyed continuously with our device will form the double contrast images as shown in section 9,which were selected from the 109 successful cases among the 120 examines in all, chosen at random (that is about 91%).

With recent advance of coronary artery bypass surgery, contrast visualization of the coronary artery branches and its stricture or obstruction have assumed increasing practical importance. We presented our experience at the Sapporo Hospital of Japanese National Railways that 32 coronary arteriograms have been recorded and got satisfactory diagnosable films during a year period using Amplatz's cathter and mono-phasic 500mA procedure without any special designed X-ray apparatus for examination of circulatory system expect Matsuki's MK-5B type rapid film changers.

Efficiency of X-ray grids has a great influence on the image quality in radiograph. Nowadays, the efficiency of X-ray grids is individually estimated by contrast improvement factor, Bucky factor and etc. Contrast improvement factor causes bring about errors by measurement methods. Therefor, contrast improvement factor is not a good method of valuation. Let Modulation Transfer Function (MTF) of phantom-X-ray grids system and MTF of scattered X-ray from phantom be replaced temporally by A_1(ω), A_2(ω) respectively. MTF of eliminating effect by means of X-ray grids is obtained theoretically by the following equation. C(ω)=A_1(ω)/A_2(ω)……(1) If the efficiency of X-ray grids is estimated by MTF, eliminating effect by X-ray grids can be estimated quantitatively at every spatial frequency. And also, the efficiency of X-ray grids which has the same grids ratio and different grid density can be estimated quantitatively by MTF. By difference of MTF, we can know how to use X-ray grids.

Nowadays we are capable of utilizating various and widely extended X-rays in different regions from tens of thousands Kilo volts to Mega electron volts in medical fiels. Clinically, howevers diagnostic X-rays intensity is limited from 60 to 150kVp and therapeutic X-rays is bounded more than MeV regions. In our study, we applied various degrees of X-rays intensity to neck or chest X-ray photograph for the purpose of advancing radiographic technology and increasing accurate roentgen diagnosis. It was investigated how the quality of photoimage was influcenced by each different potential range between 140kVp, 200kVp and 6MeV roentgen rays.

This study was about Ag particle of roentgenographic image with coloured method by chemical change. When this image Ag particle was acidified by potassium ferricyanide it changed into Ag ferrocyanide because of chemical reaction. Image Ag particle change into colouring matter chemical compound which didn't dissolve in liquid because of chemical reaction of the metal salts solution selected. This Ag particle of roenthenographic image coloured is monocolour. The chromatic method was called coloured method by chemical reaction. I attempted together with dyeing by dyestuff for blend into each other, too. When I attempted coloured method by chemical reaction. It attempted with experiment of different kind for find out processing solution does and simplified process. The experimental result of this research was good effect with Sharpness, Contrast, Latitude and Density. For one thing, it was rising of density ; for another, it was rising diagnostic range of colour difference. The processing solution of iron coloured by chemical reaction was one bath method and the original solution was augmentative action with density. The result was rising of diagnostic range for colour difference and I could decrease the radiological exposure dose for rising of density. Namely I selected first coloured processing solution by chemical reaction which was augmentative action with iron chromatic processing solution.
