Clinical data of 178 patients of Kawasaki Disease who were seen Gunma Children Medical Center from July 1, 1982 to November 31, 1982 were reviewed. Physical examination, chest roentgenogram, ECG and two-dimensional echocardiography were obtained on all patients.
32 patients underwent cardiac catheterization and angiographic study and 15 (47%) of them were noted to have a coronary arterial lesion, and 12 (38%) of them to have a coronary aneurysm. In terms of non-invasive diagnostic procedures, two-dimensinal echocardiography was found to be the most sensitive method. Thallium-201 myocardial imaging and treadmill exercise test may be usefull to find and to follow ischemic myocardial lesion of Kawasaki Disease.
As a result to be reviewed, all the patients of Kawasaki Disease should be followed up cautiously, however, we do not have to keep them within limits and not to make them anxious unnecessarily.

Transcatheter embolization therapy (embolization) was performed with gelfoam powder & MMC 10mg in 8 cases (13 times) with hepatic tumors (2 hepatomas & 6 metastatic hepatic tumors).
    1) Liver function after embolization is temporarily worsened. The level of GOT, GPT, alkaline phosphatase and total bilirubin in serum showed the highest value on 1 or 34 days after embolization but returned to pre-embolization value within 1 week. The albumin was the lowest level at 34 days to 1 week and returned to pre-embolization value gradually within 34 weeks.
    2) Post-embolization syndrome was controlled very well with analgesics.
    3) The degree of change of liver function and post-embolization syndrome depends on the volume of embolized hepatic areas.

In order to clarify the mechanism of the failure of reproductive function in diabetic rats, the hypotalamic pitutary-ovarian function in streptozotocin-induced diabetic mature female rats was investigated.
Estrous cycle patterns were disturbed in diabetic rats and these rats showed constant diestrus.
In diabetic rats no preovulatory LH and FSH-surge were observed on presumed proestrus, and the number of ovulated ova and the weights of ovary and uterus were significantly less than those seen in control rats on presumed estrus.
The responses of the pituitary gland to LH-RH in diabetic rats and diabetic castrated rats were not significantly different from those in control rats on diestrous day and castrated control rats, respectively.
However, the response of hypothalamic-pituitary axis to steroidal feedback in diabetic castrated rats were significantly less than those in castrated control rats.
The number of ovulated ova and ovarian growth induced by hCG in diabetic rats were also significantly lower than those in control rats.
These results indicate that the impaired site in streptozotocin diabetic rats is not pituitary gland, but ovary and hypothalamic-pituitary function.

A series of 151 patients with hypertensive intracerebral hemorrhage have been treated in our service from January 1981 to December 1982. There were 81 cases of putaminal hemorrhage, 35 of thalamic, 14 of pontine, 11 of subcortical, 5 of cerebellar and 5 of intraventricular hemorrhage.
Mild type or localized hematoma was treated conservatively. Flunating type also was not treated surgically. Seventy cases of moderate and severe type of hematoma except pontine hemorrhage were operated on. Fifty three operative and 52 conservative cases survived, and 62 out of 105 cases (59%) had the useful llife (ADL I°, II°). Even a serious case with large hematoma had the possibility of better stage of ADL by per-acute stage operation followed, by rehabilitation. Seventeen cases died postoperatively. Main causes of death were progression of central and uncal herniation just before operation, reaccumulation of homatoma, destruction of hypothalamus and midbrain by hemorrhage, and other systemic complications such as gastrointestinal bleeding.

A 15-year-old boy was admitted to the hospital because of increased serum LDH activity and microhematuria. The gel filtration and the immunoelectrophoresis revealed the presence of high molecular LDH-IgA complex, while the diagnosis of IgA glomerulonephritis was established by renal biopsy. It was postulated that IgA abnormality might be responsible both for formation of high molecular LDH-IgA complex and development of glomerulonephritis in this case.

57 year-old man complaining of massive bleeding out of external urethral orifice was admitted to our department. X-ray findings and urethroscopy revealed a calculus in the posteior urethra and rectourethral fistula. Both the calculus and the fistula were surgically removed. The calculus, weighing 21g, measured 3.5 × 3.0 × 2.0cm. in size. The calculus showed a mixture of calcium phosphate and calcium carbonate under the ultrared spectrophotometric analysis.
