There is at present no conclusive evidence for any direct action of chemiacl agents which induce the excitation of Pacinian corpuscle.
So we tried a screening test what drugs did elicite the action potential most remarkablly.
    1) Adrenalin, Acetylcholine, Serotonin (5HT) and Bradykinin in concentration as low as from 10-5 to 10-7 elicited many repetitive discharges of Pacinian corpuscle by means of both intra arterial injection and direct injection in the inner bulb.
    2) Krebs' solution at 5°C induced numerous firing too.
    3) It was concluded that all agents which elicited repetitive discharges had relation to the change of membrane permeability and vessel contraction and dilatation.

Some experience in the treatment of malignant tumor of the larynx by radiun radiation is briefly reviewed. Harmer-Tsukamoto' s method of radium radiation therapy with placement of radium needles over the thyreoid cartilage suffered from laryngeal cancer, which modified the original fenestration method of Harmer (1932), is used in this experience. The results in 15 cases treated for six years in our clinic are summarized and are found to be contented. Radium therapy of selected cases of early and moderately advanced malignant tumor of the larynx is regarded as the optium method of treatment for functionally satisfactory results of the larynx.

Although studies concerned with human breast carcinoma has been made, the results are variable in some points. Therefore, in order to obtain the more definite electron microscopic findings of this abnormal tissue, 19 patients of human breast carcinoma have been studied with electron microscopy in the present study, and the following results were obtained.
    (1) When the carcinoma cell contains a lot of RNA granules and organellae, it can be seen as dark cell and if the RNA granules are scanty, the cell has been seen as clear cell. Although in the present study both the dark and clear cells were fond, “A cell” which pointed out by Haguenau was not found as far as the author observed.
    (2) As for intercellular junction, terminal bars and interdigitation fairly developed and desmosomes were also observed in some cases.
    (3) In a carcinoma simplex, intercellular space with protrusions resemble to microvilli was observed. The fact suggested that the carcinoma simplex is probable to form luminal structure as adenocarcinoma.
    (4) In a lobular carcinoma, the dense bodies, 0.2-0.4μ, situated apical side of the cell, are considered to be secretory granules.
    (5) Fine filaments in the cytoplasma which were different from the myofilaments of myoepithelial cell were often observed.
    (6) Deficit of the basement membrane was seen and it was remarkable in the carcinoma simlex.
Effect of both hormonal therapies in 11 cases and the regional perfusion with MMC in 3 cases were also studied.
    (1) In cases treated hormonally, dilatation of rough-surfaced endoplasmic reticulum and detachment of its RNP granules were marked.
    (2) In the contrary to such findings, the changes after regional perfusison with MMC were marked in the nucleus and mitochondria.

The relationship between prenatal care and perinatal mortality, and incidence of prematurity was studied in Omama town (pop., 18, 000) of Gunma prefecture.
There was no conclusive evidence of a significant association between prenatal care and perinatal mortality. However, an incidence of prematurity, particularly of low birth weight group, wats more prevalent among the group of insufficient prenatal care, as judged from later onset of prenatal care and fewer visits during prenatal period. Furthermore, several socio-medical aspecs were analyzed and discussed. On the basis of these findings, special risk group of parents was suggested and the problem-centered approach of maternity care in the community was stressed.
