    Articles appeared in newspapers, especially in economic papers, industrial papers and technical papers, are very effective information sources for R&D and product planning in enterprises. The authors brief the on-line service of newspaper information specialized for personnels in charge of R&D. The background of the data base development, selection criteria of paper articles to be included in the data base, and keyword scheme are described. The computer systems, that is, input and dictionary control systems, and retrieval system, are outlined concerning the procedures and the actual services. The meaning of the data base preparation and the prospect of this System are also described.
