The relationships among knitting structures, mechanical setting terms and run-in ratio of stretch property of circular knitted fabrics which were important factors of fabric design terms, were studied experimentally.
The results obtained were as follows :
(1) The 22 pieces of fabrics with new knitting structures were obtained, and the knitted structures of rib-gating were far superior to interlock-gating in stretch property.
(2) The change of yarn speed closely affects stretch property. Then the change of clearance affects. The changes of timing, feed tension and taking up tension were of great importance to the Knitting efficiency rather than stretch property.
(3) The increased loop length for basic run-in radio decreases proper run-in ratio. The run-in ratio increased in proportion to stretch property, This tendency was marked with the limits of small runinratio.
