1292 patients had tonsilectomy or adenotomy or both of them at this clinic during 1954 to1958. Questionaries were sent to the all of the patients, and 585 cases answered them andwere investigated. Further effects of the operations were generally satisfied, however, inninety-eight cases, they were suffered from diseases after the operations.
In two cases aged 5 and 7, they were suffered from poliomyelitis and they were slight.
The intervals of the onsets of the disease and the operations were ; in one case 3 yearsand the other 1 year and 2 months.
Therefore, from these two cases, it was difficult to find any relation of the effects oftonsillectomy to the incidence of poliomyelitis.
According to american literatures, authors consider that it is better to avoid theseoperations during epidemics of the disease.

The blindfolded vertical writing test with changes in head position was applied to examine the vestibular function in cases of unilateral peripheral Labyrinthine diseases: e.q. Meniere's disease, Sudden deafness, traumatic deafness, postoperative state of fenestration operation, toxic Vertigo due to streptmycin and salcylic acid, and supprative labyrinthitis.
    The results were as follows.
    1. Marked deviation in writing was observed not only in case of Meniere's disease but also in cases of unilateral peripheral labyrinthine diseases above descrived.
To be noted, however, were the facts that the majority cases of peripheral labyrinthine diseases showed pronounced positional deviation in writting in a certain constant direction and this phenomenon was apt to be especially marked when the head inclined to the side of the lesion, as compared with the head inclination to the intact side.
    2. When the results of this test were compared with those of examination of positional nystagmus, the high sensitiveness of the former for detection of abnormality was more impressive. Namely, the marked positional deviation in writing was observed in the majority cases in which positional nystagmus was absent. As to the mechanism of apparance of positional deviation in writing, though details of the mechanism of this phenomenon is still obscure, it may be allowed for us to conclude that this phenomenon is induced by abnormal impulses generated in the labyrinth by changes in head position and passing through the vestibulo-spinal pathway.
However, it should be taken into consideration that the tonic neck reflex may have something to do with deviation in writing in association with changes in head position in cases of peripheral labyrinthine diseases.

The mucosa of the Rima olfactoria of the nasal septum was examined microscopically. Frontal sections of the nasal and paranasal cavities were prepared from 63 autopsy cases between the ages of two mcnths and 62 years.
Hypertrophy was confirmed in 9 case (14.3%). This condition was most frequently encountered and remarkable at the posterior region of the nasal septum and followed in the order of the middle and anterior region, respectively. The cases after adolescence greatly outnumbered those of the younger age group, and it was more frequently found in males than in females. Furthermore, this condition occurred frequently in those with hypertrophy of other portions of the nasal cavity, in those with pathologic lesions of the ethmoid sinus, and in those with a large Rima olfactoria.
It is considered that the majority occurs from a chronic inflammatory irritation, especially of the posterior portion of the ethmoid sinus and sphenoidal sinus. This condition has a great clinical significance, and more attention should be given to this condition during inspection and operation of the nasal and paranasal cavities.

    1. The changes of Bleeding time, Bleeding amount and Prothrombin time, in normal rabbits which were injected of 5 mg of the drug per kg, are observed. The duration time in affection is over 5 hours are most useful affecting time is between 2 or 3 hours, on the last experiment, there find scarcely affection to the Prothrombin time.
    2. Throughing the operation of chronic sinusitis in 7 cases, 3 cases of internasal operation of ethmoid bone, 9 cases of tonsillectomy, were only injected of 30 mg of drug per kg.
The Bleeding amount in these operation is a little, and no Bleeding after the operation. The Bleeding time is much shorter after 5 hours the injection.

It is known that chronic inflammation and hypertrophy of the lingual tonsil causes anabnormal feeling of the pharynx and other symptoms in human adults. However, clinicalobservations of lingual tonsil are but few in number in the literatures. The present authorhas carried out a clinical observation on the lingual tonsil in 1012 patients and obtained thefollowing results.
    1) Hypertrophy of the lingual tonsil always demonstrates an upheval from the surfaceof the lingual mucosa, and a submerged hypertrophy as in palatine tonsil if neverfound.
    2) Hypertrophy is found in 27.1% of the cases examined, and this condition is morefrequently encountered in males than in females. Hypertrophy has a tendency ofincreasing after adolescence.
    3) Hypertrophy occurs earlier in females than in males. This is considered to be due tosome influence of the endocrine glands.
    4) The lingual basis comes in contact with the epiglottis not only in hypertrphic onditions of the lingual tonsil.

The alternation of the threshould of hearing in normal ears may be occurred by various conditions, i, e. the environment or the psychological and the physical condition etc. And in the ears of otitis media chronica or labyrinthine deafness, the alternation appears more evidently.
Therefore, the decision of the improvement of hearing in those patients must be performed under the careful consideration.

We paid our attention to the fact that meteorological conditions in the airplane are apt to cause Inflammation of upper respiratory truct and so that also brought a man to Aerotitis media and Aerosinusitis.
We have investigated and studied the above point in the various steps......cin presure cabin or non-presure cabin and in winter or summer, in what meteorological conditions the airplains are, during the time of waiting for flyingoff, ascent, flying and desient.
Consequently we noticed that meteorological change in the airplaine were more great than we had expected. And its also concerns with the fact airplaines fly in a short hour between the claimatically different regions.
So that the crew and passengers, attacked by meteorological changes, expressly one who is meteorosensitive are easy to suffer from inflammation of upper respiratory tract and these make big sourses of barometric disease.
To prevent this, crews must give attention to decrease the meteorogical changes and its influence on a person in the air-plaine. But, at the same time, from the view of human engineering, we are desirous to the improvement and studies of air-engineering hereafter.
