It is widely observed in disordered systems like spin glasses and glasses that they can age aproaching the equilbrium, reducing its response to external field.This aging phenomenon has been investigated vigorously as a key to understand the nature of complex systems, and a recent experiment has revealed some curious properties of aging in spin glasses.In this experiment, the temperature is kept as T (<T
c) for a certain period t
1, and it is further lowered to T-ΔT while measuring the ac-susceptibility X.Then one sees a restart of strong relaxation of X as if the sustem is rejuvenated by this additional quench.However, the system still remembers the aging at the previous temperature, and X resumes its relaxation from the value at the end of the period t
1 when the system comes back at T.In this manuscript, we review some theoretical scenarios to explain these peculiar phenomena.

There exist two world-class gigantic lasers on the hills of Senri where Osaka Expo'70 was held.One is the glass laser facility named "GEKKO-XII, and the other is the recently constructed ultraintense pico-second pulse laser named "Peta Watt, " which is based on the latest laser technology.With these two lasers, a completely new approach to laser fusion is being investigated.The ultra high density and pressure generated in this approach and only be found in nature inside a star like our sun.The recent results successively published in Nature are highly influential in setting the direction of the world-wide research activities in laser fusion.

Orbital degree of freedom plays very important roles in electric and magnetic properties in strongly correlated electron systems.The method for measurement if orbital ordeing, however, has been limited so far.Recently it has been pointed out that the resonant X-ray scattering (RXS) technique is a very powerful tool to observe the ordering. In this paper, the principle of RXS and the recent development are descrived after the general introduction of orbital degree of freedom.Finally the future in orbital physics will be discussed.

We have promoted research & development of high quality and high intensity electron beam for a future electron-positron llinear collider.As one of study results, we have recently succeeded to observe optical diffraction radiation in the system of non-invasive beam diagnostics.We briefly described the result, the prospect of measuring beam size at submicron level and future applications.
