Antihydrogen research has been conducted aiming at a stringent test of the CPT symmetry. The strategy is "listen to the whisper of nature", where high precision spectroscopy of antihydrogen atoms is adopted as the potential tool to uncover the truth. This is in good contrast to a general approach to probe ultramicroscopical regions with high energy particle beams. Near the end of the last year (2010), two new achievements were reported in the field of cold antihydrogen research. They were trapping of antihydrogen atoms in a magnetic bottle and synthesis of antihydrogen atoms in a cusp trap, which can yield a spin-polarized antihydrogen beam. The research was recognized as the top of the Breakthoughs of the Year by Physics World Magazine and also by other scientific journals and newspapers. Here we briefly summarize these recent achievements as well as possible future directions.

Higher-dimensional black holes have rather richer properties than four-dimensional ones. For instance, the event horizon of higher-dimensional black hole can be a sphere, a cylinder, a torus and so on, and even "phase transitions" among various black objects can happen. A new paradigm called the Fluid/Gravity Correspondence is expected to make it possible to understand the dynamics of such non-linear phenomena. In this article, I describe the essence of the Correspondence, while reviewing basics of General Relativity and Fluid Mechanics.

Honeycomb-lattice antiferromagnet is a derivative of a triangular lattice, but it is free from geometrical frustration when nearest neighbor interaction only is considered. However, Bi_3Mn_4O_<12>(NO_3) does not exhibit a long-range magnetic ordering because of the frustrated next-nearest neighbor interaction. We review the experimental investigation of this new compound.

Ground-based interferometeric gravitational wave detectors are expected to detect gravitational waves within several years. Detection of their primary targets, relativistic compact binaries, however requires detailed priori knowledge on binary dynamics. Recently, we have completed 3.5 order post-Newtonian equations of motion which serve as the basic tool for that purpose. We review why we need such equations of motion and explain our method of derivation and those of the other groups, and their relations.
