Origin and evolution, above all, direction of chemical process in evo-lution of petroleum are discussed.
.Petroleum is considered to have been derived from organic matters deposited in ancient seas or lakes.
.In general, the oils in the younger strata are of naphthenic character, and with increasing depth and geological age of burial the oils become increasingly paraffinic.
.The formation of petroleum was carried out at relatively low temperature near to the normal temperature.
.Thermal decomposition, effect of bacteria, radioactivity and acid silicate catalysis on petroleum formation are discussed.
.It is probable that protopetroleum is of naphenic character and naphthenic crude oils evolute towards paraffinic crude oils.
.It is probable that genesis of mother strata for petroleum formation has a close connection with the environment for slight oxidation. and following rapid change from oxydizing to reducing.
