Rapid analysis of coal ash, fly-ash, clinkers and deposits on external heating surfaces of boilus is necessary to study fusion characteristics of ash and the formation of deposits.
In the method presented here-
silica, alumina, iron, titanium and phospherous are determined by the colorimtric method, lime and magnesia by the complexometric method and alkalimetals by the flame photometry in which aluminum is used to eliminate the calcium interferense.
Results obtained by this rapid method has been compared with those by conventional procedures.
Results are in good agreement and it is possible to analyse five samples (55 components) a week.
