In general, it can be said that the fuel industry of the U.S.S.R.ranks second following that of the U.S.A.At the initial stage of its reconstruction after war, coal was the chief energy source for the fuel industry and the development of the electric power.Based on the seven-year plan which started in 1959, the energy source for the industry was converted from coal to fluid fuel such as petroleum, natual gas, etc.Nevertheless, the production of coal has been still increasing and the surplus amounts of coal has been used for the power generation at mines as well as for coke production.
The author described the construction of the fuel energy, its consumption in the main industries and so forth.
