The chemical analysis of the water of about 50 river in our country were carried out during a whole year from May, 1933 to April, 1934, being collected about 550 samples by the staff of the meteorological stations. These results are shown in Table 1 and 2. In Table 5 the chemical compositions of the water of our rivers are compared with th_??_se of the world.
The Tendency of negative correlation is recognized between the total amount of catches and the calcium content, while the positive between the formar and the amount of phosphate and nitrogen compounds.
In this paper some relations between thunderstorm frequency and Baiu in Japan are treated statistically for the period ranging from 1925 to 1930. In the frequency curves of thunderstorms experienced at various places of this country, the remarkable abnormities occur in June or July covering about half a month. This fact indicates us that in such a time-interval the occurence of thermal thunderstorm is interrupted by some agency of heat type. The present authors wish to interpret is as the climatic effect of the rainy season or Baiu in Japan.
In the second report has been taken into account of the deflecting force due to the Earth's rotation. The result is, with the former ones: The terms containing C(2), C(3), D(2), D(3) show the effect of the centrifugal force, while the other ones are nothing but A. Oherbeck's Currents. From the above result, we may conclude that the centrifugal force operates so as to oppose against Oberbeck's currents in middle latitudes and nourish them in higher latitudes.
The present author of this paper has studied on the secular changes of the barometric gradients and the mean pressure in Japan using the data in theperiod 1880-1933, and obtained the following results. (1) In the north component of the barometric gradient, there is some, periodical change longer than 50 years at least, and it may have some relations with the changes in the general circulation of the atmosphere. (2) In the distribution of pressure, the author has found a remarkable periodical change ranging from 22 to 23 years, and he verified its periodicity by the harmonic analysis. (3) Persistence of the mean air pressure seems rather due to mere chance, while the barometric gradients has a tendency of the persistence.
In the present paper, the angles of inclination of the surfaces ofdiscontinuity are calculated using the observations by means of pilot balloons. Places over the Kwantô district experienced the angles from 7' to 2°40'. It is concluded that the angles of the surfaces of discontinuity attached to developed depres ions are high and much greater.
