  • リン酸を触媒とする反応の速度論的研究

    Kinetic studies have been made on the high pressure synthesis of acetic acid from methanol and carbon [monoxide] catalyzed by phosphoric acid. The reaction proceeds in the phosphoric medium between the dissolved carbon monoxide and the dissolved methanol, the vapor of the latter being in equilibrium with the dehydration products i. e., dimethylether and water, and the reaction is of the first order with respect to each component.
    A theoretical rate equation has been derived which can explain quantitatively the effects of operation variables such as the carbon monoxide pressure and the charge ratio of methanol, water or phosphoric acid; the rate constant is 7.5×10-5atm-1min-1 at 370°C and the activation energy is 27kcal/mole.
    Owing to the occurrence of side reaction producing tarry matters above 390°C, the optimum reaction temperature is confined to 370°C.
    The activity of the catalyst increased gradually for the first 2 hours at 370°C, and remained constant thereafter. Furthermore, no change was observed in the activity of the regenerated catalyst, thus, the catalyts appears to have a fairly long life.

    Analysis of C6-C8 hydrocarbons in Seria crude oil was made by means of infrared and Ramanspectra, and gas chromatography combined with distillation and percolation methods. By the results of the experiments, quantitative data on 43 hydrocarbons were presented, which were comprised in all of the anticipated compounds in C6 and C7 series, and principal components in C8 series. Then, a brief discussion was made on application of these analytical instruments to routine analysis of complex hydrocarbon mixtures.

    A study has been made on iron sulfide film which was formed on the sliding surface during extreme-pressure lubrication. Radioactive tracer technique with 35S was employed to study the mechanism of the formation of sulfide film and its behaviors in lubrication. Cetane solutions of elementary sulfur-35S, dibenzyl disulfide-35S2, dodecyl mercaptane-35S and stearic acid-1-14C were used for the experiments of adsorption and friction tests.
    It was explained by the result that the amount of iron sulfide attached to frictional surface after the removal of wear debris increased with time during the primary period, but it finally attained to a constant value. That is; a steady state was established between the formation of iron sulfide and its removal by the friction. Formation of sulfide film was remarkably affected by the chemical state of sulfur in the lubricants and by the coexistence of other surface active agents.
    It was also explained that the surface of iron sulfide formed by actual friction had higher activity of adsorption than that of iron oxide film.
    By the above results of experiment, it was suggested that the mechanism of formation of sulfide film by Davey should be developed.
