    Various factors affecting the occurrence of the Bridging of plug gap in 2 cycle farm engine were studied by inserting fine particles of iron metal into the cylinder, and the following results were obtained.
    (1) The Bridging tends to occur easily when the size and the amount of particle increases and the spark gap is narrow.
    (2) The difference of position of particles put on the piston head affects on the occurrence of the Bridging.
    It increases on the side of scavenging port and does not occur on the side of exhaust port.
    (3) The occurrence of the Bridge forming differs due to the place in the cylinder where adhesive substances as oil are adhered as the following order: electrodes of spark plug>cylinder head>piston head>non oiled into the cylinder.
    (4) The length of reach of spark gap into the cylinder much more influences on the Bridge forming.
    It increases at the other reach length except the fitted.
    (5) Low-heat range of spark plug at the heavy load increases the Bridge forming.
    (6) The Bridge forming due to the inserted particle is liable to occur at the side of light load and on the way of rising of cylinder temperature.
    The warming up of engine is effective, while the cold starting is harmful for preventing the Bridge forming.
    (7) Unfitted size of gasket induces many deposits of partcles which causes frequent Bridge formings for lasting period.

    The author measured the cultivating resistance of a pointed tine (Fig. 1) of rotary tiller by the test apparatus mentioned in previously. The results were obtained as follows:
    (1) In generally, the vertical component of cultivating resistance is larger than the horizontal component,
    (2) The cultivating resistance in which the vertical component is maximum is the largest of the other.
    (2) The maximum resistance increases with the increasing cultivating depth and pitch (Fig. 2)
    (4) The maximum cultivating resistance acts downward, because of the shape of tine and the plasticity of soil.
    (5) The cultivating resistance reaches to maximum when the tine soon enters in the soil in small depth, but in large depth, reaches to maximum when the tine more revolves in soil (Fig. 4).
    (6) The specific resistance is minimum at the depth 10-12cm, and decreases with the increa-sing pitch (Fig. 6).

    The author made the experimental equipment with a tine attached to the horizontal shaft (axis), its mechanism is as in the rotary type tillage machine, and expeimented with sand. When the shaft is rotated by a' motor, the sand is thrown by the tine towards the rear. By means of camera, taking pictures from the side of shaft, the authar studied on the flying condtions of the sand and made to figure (Fig 2) on it. For purposes of theoretical investigations, the differential equation of motion (1) of the sand was led from the anguler velocty, cientrifugal force, gravitational acceleration and frictional force, by means of its solutions, the author knew the first velocity, the direction of flying of the sand on the tine, and drew theheoretical trajectory curve. (Fig 6) The results of thetheoretical solutions was about the same as those fo experiments as recognized in this study.

    On the study of base for penetration of plow, this paper investigated for max, depth, draft resistance, and curve of penetration by changing of length of beam and wedge angle of triangle edge.
    1) Max. depth and inter-angle for each edges of each beams were as Table 3. This is, working depth penetrated deeply at small wedge angle, and the same at long beam. Inter-angle took the large angle at the small wedge angle and it was a little effected for the length of beam.
    2) Moment of point of share for each max, depth increased on the long beam and small wedge angle. Draft resistance increased steeply with the increasing depth and it was thought by friction at the landside and the sole.
    3) The locus by penetration of both the landside heel any point of share was metamorphosis of trochoid curve that took parameter of φ and function F (φ) for distance of drive, and it would be explained from this formula the reason that strength of compression for sole and the locus of penetration fixed by the length of landside.

    Experiment of the tiller was conducted to find out by means of field tests the performance of tilling, using five types of rotor. Two types of rotor were named “Hanagata” and “Nataba” made at the tiller manufacturer, and three types of rotor were designed at the College in such a way that the cutting angle of tines were respectively 30°, 45°, 60°. The performance of tilling of the tiller differed much from that of conventional power tillers. The results of test were as follows:-
    1. As the depth of tilth increases, the power requirement of tiller increases at beginning and then tends to decrease at about the tilth of the deeper limit.
    2. As the depth of tilth increases, the running speed and tilling pitch of tiller drops lower and pulverizing characteristics are improved.
    3. The power torque required for unit volume of tilth per sec. was the smallest for the rotor attached with the tines of 60° cutting-angle. Through other field experiments, it was found that the draft requirements of the tiller mounted with the water-cooled engine were larger than that of the tiller with the air-cooled engine. The stability performance of the tiller with water-cooled engine was as same as that with air-cooled engine on the flatted land, but on the sloping land it was hard to operate the tiller with water-cooled engine. The straines caused by vibrations of water-cooled engine seemed slightly smaller than that of air-cooled engine.

    We have carried out the practical tests concerning to the deep plowing, subsoil plowing (Panbreaking) and mole plowing at the typical less fertile lands, one was “Shinden” district and the other was “Tomioka” district, and each implements was drawn by a farm tractor-Fordson Major. The top soil is clay loam at “Shinden” district and volcanic sandy loam or loam at “Tomioka” district. But the subsoil is heavy clay at the both districts. The conclusions which are induced from these practical tests are as follows.
    About 2.5 tons class farm tractors are able to draw a single-bottom 16″-20″ integral-mounted tractor plow at a depth of 31-33cm, and up to 30cm with a 2-bottom 12″ trailing tractor plow equipped with subsoilers. These plowings may be not only plowed under 2nd or 3rd gear traction, but subsoil plowing (Pan-breaking) can be penetrated effectively, too. But it is difficult to mole-plow up to 50cm. Therefore if the farm area is wide sufficiently or a tractor is used in cooperation, it is desirable to get at least about 2.5 tons class farm tractor in Hokkaido.

    In this paper, the air injection type nozzle for mist sprayer has been tested under the same as conditions in V report. On the test result, atomization was largely affected by the relation in pressure between air and chemicals. After then, comparative experiment has been tried on five nozzles. The results are as follows:
    (1), On the nozzle with net (and vortex liquid nozzle) and propeller, the distribution pattern is diffusing type. (2), On the nozzle with impact plate, the characteristics are changed by mutual relation between plate and nozzle size, and travelling force is the most excellent. (3), On the air injection nozzle, particles arrive at a full distance from the nozzle and the reduction of particle size and numbers are more less than the others. And also, on the inverted atomizing nozzle for its blower (nozzle spouting out chemicals in the opposite direction to air stream), travelling force is worse than the former.

    In this paper author practised measurements on the hulling function of Centrifugal Rice Huller, giving one paddy at a time under various revolutions of the impeller.
    1. The lower limit of revolution of the impeller for hulling action is about 500-1000 r. p. m., and the upper limit about 4000 r. p. m.
    2. S-figured curves in fig. 1 and 3 show the relation between revolution of impeller and hulling rate of paddy.
    3. Fig. 2 and 4 indicate the characteristics curves of the hulling property of paddy to given revolution of impeller.
    4. Broken rice is assumed to be chiefly occured by the second impact-process.
  • 選別特性曲線に就いて

    In case of experiment, I used three varieties of grain sorters, namely, plane parallel type, plane folding fan type and zigzag type grain sorter.
    Then, I Combined variously the three requistes, i. e. interval of wire, angle and flow rate, and checked up the weight of broken rice and unriper rice.
    From this experiment, the result indicate a sifting characteristic curve of grain sorter. For that reason, we may call it the sifting chracteristic curve.
    In this report, I checked the sifting characteristic curve with the result of experiment up to now.

    On this report, we made many various kinds of lug and clapper, due to the result of the preceding report. And then we measured the necesary power and pressure for the roll of ensilage cutter. The pressure was self-recorded. The best result was obtained, when the shape of lug on both rolls was the same round type. In this case, net feeding-pressure was about 4kg.
