    1. A Single intravenous injection of 1.0-2.0 mg of Marinamycin (M2), 2-4 hrs. before the whole bodyirradiation of X-ray (182 γ), showed the preventive effect for rabbits from leucopenia.
At the same dosage of irradiation, three prior intravenous injection of Adenine sulfate (10mg×3), showed the similar result.
    2. The natural recovery of leucopenia produced on rabbits irradiated by 182 or 300 γ took the same period of 73 days. The injection of 5.0 mg M2, 2 hrs. or 48 hrs. prior to irradiation (300 γ), prevented the acute leucopenia, but did not showed the same effect in the case of 24 hrs. prior injection.
    3. The administration of M2 after the irradiation (300 γ) showed the rapid recovery effect for leucopenia.
    4. The administration of Benzyl Kinetin prior to the whole-body irradiation (300 γ) did not preventthe leucopenia.
    5. The leucopenia caused by the administration of the anti-cancer antibiotics (Carcinophilin and Mitomycin C) was recovered by the M2 treatment.

Comparisons of the phagocytosis of Myc, lepraemurium by various kinds of established cells and the effees of the enzyme and detergent which were used for isolating the bacilli from infected tissues on the phagocytosis of Myc, lepraemurium were studied and the following results were obtained.
    1. Myc. lepraemurium were phagocytosed by the HeLa, MS, FL, S, as well as L cells at the same rates.
    2. Trypsin treatment which was used for isolating and purifying the bacilli reduced the phagocytosis rates. On the contrary, desoxycholate treatment significantly stimulated the phagocytosis rates of Myc, lepraemurium.
    3. It was demonstrated that heat treatment of the bacilli (caused) the enhancement of the phagocytosis of Myc, Lepraemurium. It is probably presumed that the mechanism of stimulation of phagocytosis by desoxycholate and heat treatment is due to the changes in ionic charge of the cell surface of Myc, lepraemurium.
