In this study, the measurement of two-dimensional voltage distribution on tribocharged dielectric polymers was conducted with a high-resolution electrostatic voltmeter in cleanroom environments. The distribution was very nonuniform. This measurement technique was applied to evaluate the performance of .charge-removal methods for the dielectrics. The ionizer had difficulty in neutralizing surface charges distributed in the form of mosaics of mixed negative and positive charges. On the other hand, IPA-dipping had drastic charge-removal effects not only to reduce their mean voltage but also to render their voltage distribution uniform.

In this study, the parking lots were classified into aboveground, underground and mixed type-according to space utilization and into self-driving, mechanical and the mixed type according to the way of parking, (or the way a car is parked) In order to understand the characteristics of the energy use in the parking lots, the measurement of the energy consumption was. carried out in the 85 classified parking lots which were elected from the city planning parking lots. Among the examined parking lots, 61 Underground Parking Lots were included.

Studying recently developed residential blocks with common inner court (1976〜1990) in urban districts of European countries, mainly Germany, we clarified the design motivation, the intended function and several planning data. This paper reports the charecteristics of the building and the dwelling. Main points are as follows ; 1) The building height is desinged so as to be harmonious to existing urban landscape. The feasible and intended density level is realized by adjusting neither building height nor floor ratio, but building ratio. 2) The room allocation to the orientation and the street-court relation is not always stable. But several designers intend that common space for family's daytime activity is arranged to be in south exposure and bedroom is located to direct to the inner court side. 3) The building is designed to contain various type of dwelling,

The first objective of this study is to grasp of inpatient's behavior in the hospital ward. The second objective is to make groups of behavior pattern and find out some life styles on inpatient's behavior. The third objective is to analyze the relation between the life style on inpatient's behavior and the physical environment of hospital ward. For these objectives, we selected two hospitals, those were faced with reconstruction, to investigate the inpatient's behavior and we did the investigation two times in each hospital, before and after reconstruction. As a result of investigation, five pattern of life style were find out.

This paper is a part of studies on Architecture and Management of Operating Departments. We investigated management of materials in 7 double access type operating departments, selected from Japan, Korea, and Taiwan. In addition to "A Study on Movement of People in Double-access Type" and "A Study on Supply and Recovery of Sterile Materials" that we have presented, we pointed out problems, indicated improvement proposals, and totally evaluated plan-forms of operating departments. By this, we have pointed out characteristics of plan-forms and problems such as differences of planning concept and actual usage, and balance between management of clean-dirty and efficiency in surgical procedures, and so on. We intend to clarify indicators for planning of architecture and management of double-access type operating departments through international exchange of information.

A grid is often used as a reference line to determine the position of building components, but, the functions of grids are recognized vaguely. The author focused on the layout of panels such as ceiling tiles, and analized the layout of panels on the grid which is shifted half from the planning grid. By fitting the reference line drawn on the axis of the tiles to the original planning grid, we can get the same layout. It means that the axial discipline is appliable not only to the partitions but also to the building components of panel type.

The first object of this study is to grasp the actual condition of the siding wall construction in a detached house. The second object is to find out primary influence factors in constructability and propose concrete solutions for the problems. The final object is to study on relations between constructability and joint rayout design for the siding in a detached house. The authors undertook a survey on construction works of the siding wall in a detached houes. The results and the considerations of this paper are as follows ; 1. In the term of worker-time, the more complicated the shape of a board is the longer time is needed. For example, some board of complicated shape needs twice or three times as long as a rectangular board's. 2. In most of the cases the boards of complicated shape appear around the openings, this fact can help us the layout of joint on the exterior wall. 3. As the result of simulation in worker-time, the worke-time needed in construction is subjected to the joint layouts' influence.

Here is .proposed that architectural design can be described and explained by some kind of formal language, because of the unique character that the design is composed of elementary space units. I study the origins of this type of idea refering documents on modern architectural theories and research reports (Western and Japanease), investigate what kind of formal language is best applicable and propose a newly developped system using Dyck languge.

The concept of the schema grammar, in which a set of schema rules represents regularities hidden in the architectural space, is proposed. The schema as a conceptual image is transfigured by rules, and finally becomes a architectural space. By constructing the grammar, it is possible to understand an invisible structure of space. For confirming effectiveness of the grammar, we attempt to obtain a grammar of the ancient city plans in China and Japan. The grammar have been derived from the ideal concepts in the ancient time. Comparing the rules and production processes, we can show the distinctions of ideal concepts on cities in both countries.

The purpose of this study is to clear the relation between the visual unity and the volume of the parallel two buildings space. We made the experiments, using the space simulator which enable us to observe scale models from eye level. Then we got the quantitative data of the factors of visual unity, such as the height, the length and the distance of the buildings. After analysing them, we came to the conclusions that the visual unity of space was greatly influenced by the height than the length, and the distance could be estimated by the height and the length.

This study deals with an analogy between architecture and music by taking a case of the transition from Romanesque to Gothic of European medieval ages. The aim of this study is to regard both of them as combinations of small parts, and to point out how each element is united. During the medieval ages, architecture has expanded from Romanesque style to Gothic style, and music has changed from monophony such as Gregorian Chant to polyphony which was derived from them. Both architecture and music have the aspect that they have changed from simply additional structure to both additioal and devisional one.

In this thesis, the oldest block called Castellaccia in the center of the historical district of Peccioli, small medieval city in Tuscany, is studied through the typology of the component buildings in the block. These buildings are divided into two types, 'casa a schiera' and 'casa in linea', and then classified by the number of 'cellura' to analyze the relationship between function and composition of the space. As another study, component buildings in the Castellaccia are investigated through the 'cadastre (1834)' and present surveyed drawings in order to clarify the transformational process of them since 1834.

The Architectural/Engineering/Construction (A/E/C) industry in the U.S. is very'fragmented. One of the industry's major problems is communication between professionals. Therefore, computer information integration can play an important role in bridging project participants. More and more A/E/C firms in the U. S. are finding integration to be their most strategic option in meeting increased competition. The objectives of this paper are : To define and describe CIC ; to show the incentives for CIC implementation in the U. S.; to describe practical applications and current status of CIC research in three major A/E/C firms; and to present future trends and directions.
