This paper outlines some of the basic ecological concerns expressed in the Kojiki. It focuses primarily on the story of Susa-no-o, giving particular importance to Susa-no-o's role as a trickster figure. Two central episodes are used to demonstrate how Susa-no-o's trickster nature functions in highlighting early Japanese considerations about the proper relations of humans toward the land and agriculture. It then discusses the influence of these themes upon successive Japanese cultural attitudes. In the concluding section it considers the presence of the trickster tradition in modern writing, referring to examples which suggest its continuing importance.

Charge conservation for the Landau-Migdal theory of finite nuclei is investigated. Angular momentum coupling plays an important role in the proof of the charge conservation. A simple charge-current operator satisfying the charge conservation is shown to exist for the LS closed nuclei. The charge conservation for the HF+RPA with the Skyrme interaction is also discussed.

The energy spectrum of nucleons in high-density nuclear matter is investigated in the framework of a relativistic meson-nucleon many-body theory, employing the 1 /N expansion method. The coupling of the nucleon with the particle-hole excitations in the medium flattens the spectra in the vicinity of the Fermi surface. The effect grows logarithmically for increasing density and eventually leads to instability of the normal state. The validity of the mean-field theory at high density is criticized.

1, 2-Dimethoxy Benzene has been found to generate chemical oscillations in 1, 2-dimethoxy Benzene / BrO3- / Mn2+ / H2SO4 system. Experimental conditions (concentration range and temperature range) within the oscillatory behavior which can be observed are reported. The energies of activation were estimated from the Arrhenius plots. The results have been explained in the light of FKN mechanism.

A Belousov-Zhabotinskii oscillation system involving 1, 3-dimethoxy benzene and Mn2+/Mn3+ as a redox catalyst was studied. In contrast to the analogous reaction with malonic acid, no oscillations of the concentration of bromide ions were detected by a bromide ion selective electrode. Two different types of oscillations (damped type and undamped type) which depend on the initial composition of system, were observed. The effect of changes in reagent concentrations and the temperature dependence of the system were studied. The energies of activation were estimated from the Arrhenius plots.
