Dr. K. Kogami and his coworkers already published a paper on the variant of the tubercle bacilli by the name of the S. T. bacilli in this Journal, Bd.14, No.1, 1936, & Bd.15, No.1, 1937. The authors have definitely proved bacteriologically, pathologically, and serologically (co mplement-fixation test) that the variant comes from the typical Koch's bacilli. I think it to be important and very interesting to investigate the relation of the variant to the agglutination for tuberculosis. For this purpose I have made the cross agglutination and absorption tests of agglutinin with the immune sera of the S. T. bacilli and the typical tubercle bacilli.
