    Color knowledge is necessary for creating moving image contents. In order to realize more detailed learning than the conventional moving image color learning system, we developed the new functions. First, we added a three-dimensional display function that logs of beginners’ answer using the system and can compare the answer history with the correct answer according to the question. Second, we added a color tone correction function according to the specified scene and brightness. Third, we added an advisory function to display the difference between the answer’s value and the correct answer value for hue, saturation, and lightness. From the evaluation experiments, it was confirmed that learning effect and continued motivation by using the system can be expected.

    This study attempts to empirically demonstrate the characteristics of the learning experiences of next-generation engineers, or in other words “future engineers” in undergraduate programs. The study observes these future engineers in terms of hours of self-directed learning and the breadth and complexity of their knowledge and skills. The study adopts data from a student survey conducted in 2015, which includes approximately 3,200 responses from regional undergraduate engineering programs in public and private institutions. Results suggested that laboratory-style courses were more significantly effective than lecture-style courses for developing future engineers. Furthermore, engaging in problem solving and individual tutelage in laboratory-style courses provided the impetus for learning among future engineers.

    In order to respond to the development of society, it is necessary to develop a sustainable social infrastructure that ensures the public a rich living environment. In order to realize this, it is urgently necessary to develop comprehensive management technology and develop human resources who can make full use of it. The educational program introduced in this paper is a master’s and doctoral program to have practical ability to cope with internationalization for businessmen in industry related to infrastructure development. For that purpose, we invited the practitioners and researchers who are active in the front line in the infrastructure field, designed a curriculum that does not stick to the contents that can be provided by full-time teachers, and have been operating the program based on bold tuition reduction and independent profitability. This program was launched in April 2016. A total of 90 people has enrolled by March 2019 and 21 have obtained degrees. From the continuous enrolling of students from specific companies, the number of students enrolled, and the degree of satisfaction of the alumni,it was confirmed that this program has contents responding to the needs of the society as well as practitioners in civil engineering.

    A task of using Microsoft Excel was conducted for a computer architecture class. In this task, an Excel file was used for designing an original CPU and running a program step by step for the designed CPU. First, they designed their CPU on Excel, and then they ran the program written in assembler for their original CPU. After the Excel file was used in a class, a questionnaire survey was conducted. According to the results of the questionnaire survey, almost all students understood how to use this Excel file and almost all students felt that the Excel file was very useful to understand computer architecture.

    This study is an exploratory case study about an active-learning type lecture for college students as an effort aimed at the realization of innovation and human resource development for social implementation of intellectual assets. Based on the results of lecture evaluation, students’ own sentimental evaluation, text analysis of free responses about consciousness and changes in the aspect of thinking, the aspect of motivation and desire, the aspect of emotion, etc., the lecture in question changed the students’ consciousness in a positive way. In addition, a positive correlation was found between the evaluation of group discussions, which is one of the techniques of active-learning type lectures, and the awareness of the internal and external aspects of other people.

    The awareness of the importance of the education of engineering ethics has been growing in recent years, and therefore it is expected to continuously improve the classes of engineering ethics. This study aims to explain the improvement increasing students’ senses of reality in the classes of engineering ethics in FY2018, and reveal the effect of the improvement. The improvement includes the addition of understandable examples, familiar contents and elements of aspirational ethics, and the communication with students utilizing class support system. Based on the result of questionnaire survey, it was reveled that students’ interest in engineering ethics and awareness of the usefulness of engineering ethics were increased in comparison with FY2017. Accordingly, it was understood that the improvements increasing students’ senses of reality in the classes of engineering ethics were effective.

    Interactive class system is an inexpensive and simple system consisting of PC, Web cameras and color cards. In the class, there are cases where groups are formed and discussions and activities are carried out, but using the previous system, the status of each group was not known because all the number of color cards were recognized at once by the system. Using this study, we were able to ask numbers of color cards for each group. We developed two kinds of methods which can specify ranges by rectangles or straight lines. As a result of the questionnaire, it was found that two types of group aggregators are useful.

    At the National Institute of Technology, Suzuka College, the curriculums of departments were reconsidered all together in advance reorganization of the Advanced Engineering Courses in 2017. “The Basic Design of the Study” which is Problem Based Learning was introduced for the 2nd grade in all departments. We planned the class for the purpose of experiencing research activities for students, as follows. Students do not depend on a field of own department and choose the study subject in which one is interested. A study target is established, and it’s studied to the target. Research activities will be reported appropriately. This paper is the practice report and proposal that “the Basic Design of the Study” was conducted at Suzuka College.

    To introduce consistent fundamental engineering education to the primary and secondary education level students, we combined part of the science class-works with the industrial arts class to handle the relating topics effectively. We also developed a new active-learning method modifying the Parallel Teaching. By employing the industrial arts subject as applied science, it is possible to implement class activities with an engineering viewpoint even in the very early stage of the primary education. Most of the students showed strong interest in both theories and applications after they knew how the theories were applied in the actual life. Through three years implementation of the proposed learning method for the same group of students, we confirmed its efficiency and effectiveness.
