One of the important themes in computer graphics is the method of designing an easy data-input system of 3D objects. We proposed an input system of polyhedron using the projective plane by a conformal projection method. In this papar, we propose a new input algorithm of curved solid using the projective plane. First, a basic data-input algorithm of 3D objects by this projection and input examples are shown. Many points on 3D objects are interactively constructed on computer by this algorithm. Next, an input algorithm of curved surface are described. Finally, data-input examples and display techniques are shown.

Computer Graphics (CG) will be able to apply attractive visual communication systems. However, there are many technical problems in CG systems, typical one is the performance bottleneck. We have designed an high-speed image generation system based on multiprocesser architecture, composed of processer units (PU). In this paper, the architecture of the PU, which has two operation units, called VFPP and SP, is presented. VFPP consists of three floating point processer (FPP) and excutes 3-D vector operation. SP consists of FPP and ALU connecting each other and excutes scalar operation and controls other resources. For high-performance of data accessing, an memory address generator and a high-speed data bus architecture are also implemented.

We are developing a picture synthesizing system that has the ability to generate images very quickly. In this paper, we report on the image generation method used in this system, and also how to develop its software. Software must have flexibility and extensibility, because our purpose of developing this system is to study various image generation algorithms. Therefore, the image generation procedure is divided into modules and the software is constructed by collecting these modules.

Japanese word processing is rapidly spreading in many applications and in many information systems, while it is very difficult to integrate the applications and they are not interoperable among different systems. In the area of computer graphics, though integration capabilities and interoperability are improved by the current international standardization efforts, Japanese text supprt is left un-standardized. This paper is intended to present the basis for discussions about Japanese text support in computer graphics standards. It contains a survey of text support in the computer graphic standards, the problems of Japanese text support and a summary of the proposal for international text support in PHIGS by the Japanese standardization group.

In this paper, current status of standards ; CGI and CGM is described. Reported techinical contents of these satndards are based on discussion of the last ISO/TC97/SC21/WG2 meeting, which was held in England in september 1986. CGM will soon become the first standard for a general purose graphical metafile. Follow-on work is already underway to extend CGM to serve some needs such as GKSM, which were outside the initial scope of CGM. The draft proposal for CGI will be soon available with some techinical changes to the current CGI working draft, such as the definition of profiles and additional input classes.
