    It is concidered that the resolution of the CCD imager is limited by Nyquist rate determined as a half of the pixel number of the CCD. High spacial frequency components of the input image above Nyquist rate generate aliasing. The aliasing pattern contains informations of the high frequency components of the input image. Therefore by turning up the frequency components of the aliasing from low to high frequency, the original image can be reconstructed beyond Nyquist rate.

    A 1/2-in 330k-pixel progressive-scan CCD image sensor with square-pixel has been developed. It has 3-phase 3-level electrode V-CCDS, a dual H-CCD with compound channel and dual-channel output circuitry. It achieved high vertical resolution 480 TV lines by use of reading all the signals without mixing every 1/60 second. The characteristcs are as follows ; matched VGA, easy image-processing, and being based on EIA(NTSC). As a result, it is suitable for image-recognition, and imae-capturing. A timing generator with function of random-trigger-shutter has been developed. Using this CCD image sensor together with this timing generator, we can capture the full-frame-still-picture of a target at high-speed.

    We developed high picture quality single CCD digital camera for home-use. Using 2/3" 900 thousand pixel CCD of progressive scan mode, complementary color filter array of new spectral characteristics, wavelength selective optical LPF and digital signal processing, this camera achieved high resolution, 600 TV lines in horizontal and 480 TV lines in vertical, high picture quality without luminance and chrominance moire, and fine color reproduction.

    We have developed a new type of image sensor which gives high sensitivity and high Picture quality. The new device uses the phenomenon of electron-bombardment in the a-Si : H overlaid AMI . A 1500 times multiplication was obtained at an accelerating voltage of 10 kV. High resolution and high picture quality were obtained. because there is no phosphor screen and no coupling fiber plate as are used in conventional I. I. - CCD systems. We have also developed a compact TV camera for use under low light level illumination.

    A three-tube color TV camera simulating insect vision by means of the false-color method and sensitive at wavelengths of 300 - 650 nm (from UV to yellow) has been developed. In this camera, UV components are converted into red, while blue and green components are left in their original colors. The camera makes it possible to show with great color an insect's view of floral nectar guides and Sexual differences in coloration in the cabbage white butterfly, colors of Which are invisible to the naked human eye. Applications of this camera in many fields including education, environment and medicine can be expected.
