We have developed a 2000-lines TV camera using 1-inch SATICON for real-time digital radiography system. We obtained the value of about 60% amplitude response at 1000 TV-lines at the center of image, and 46dB signal to noise ratio by 2000-lines scanning mode.

In this paper, the authors propose a new [STACK CCD] type imaging device overlaid with a photoconversion layer. Using this type driving method for a 1-inch optical lens format 2M pixel image sensor, we have realized a 30 (ele p-p) fixed-pattern noise, and an image lag and a sticking are decreased to below measurable limit.

wide band 3-stage FDA for HDTV was simulated and demonstrated. Several techniques were studied for wide band and high gain FDA. It was simulated that the maximum point of the gain in FDA move to the direction density of p-well being higher by thinning gate oxidation film. Scaling was studied for wide band FDA. we developed 3-stage FDA for HDTV of G=0.7, fc=220MHz.

A 160K pixel CCD image sensor designed on the base of a new configuration has been developed. This device, named Preprocessing CCD (P^2-CCD), is featured by signal charges summing operation in the image sensor. In addition, the vertical CCD driving frequency and the horizontal CCD driving frequency are a half and a quarter in comparison with a conventional CCD image sensor, respectively. By adopting P^2-CCD, this device has realized 85dB wide dynamic range and 400 TV lines high horizontal limit-ing resolution.

A format for consumer-use Analog HD-VCR was developed. The specifications in this format have already been published in ITEJ Technical Report. FM parameters of this format were determined to achieve high quality picture with studies of S/N, waveform response and moire. Recording pattern of color difference signals, which needs only a small circuit and simple signal processing, was determined through study of adjacent cross-talk. Studies made in the process of determining FM parameters and recording pattern of this format are described in this paper.

We have developed a recording and playback technology for S-VHS VCRs with digital audio. By optimizing parameters which infuluence electro-magnetic characteristics and using MIG heads for the audio signal recording, both highly stable audio signals and high-quality video signals can be playbacked simultaneously. Also, the automatic recording current adjustment function provides the most suitable condition for each of magnetic tapes for use in S-VHS system.

Two kinds of quick response reel control technologies with 4DD-mechanism were developped for home use VCR. One is mutual action of both reels in consideration of their inertias and radiuses and rotation speeds, which can start and stop FF/REW quickly. Another technology achieve quick tape-loading without tape-damage by measuring reel radius and controling the torque and detecting the position of mechanism.

we will Present a new measuring method and system to analyze the displacement distribution of the track, on which signal are recorded by magnetic recording systems, by using Fourier Transform Grid Method. This system can obtain a two-dimensional distribution of the displacement accurately, and clarify the relation between the displacement distribution and the factors of deteriorating the track linearity.

We have proposed two methods that can discriminate a thickness of a tape for VCR. They are based on the principle that the change of the rotation period of a reel when a tape is running is directly proportional to the thickness of the tape. One method can discriminate it faster than the other one by means of the accumulation of the change.
