We have developed a high definition still picture system based on the Guidelines drafted at the Hi-Vision promotion Center. This system can store about 1500 Pictures on one 130mm optical disk using picture compression technology,and can realize dramatic presentation using screen effects such as wipe, dissolve, etc. This system offers potential for many kind of applications such as presentation system and image data base system.

This papar discusses a new signal processing method to realize an HDTV video disc player which enables long play-back time. The disc player constituent, a clock generation method using liner prediction, horizontal and vertical non-liner signal emphasis, and 4-level FM recording of PCM audio are presented.
we have developed video Disc Recorder (VDR), it used Magnet optical Disc, VDR uses a dual-head optical system, for simultaneous record and erasure. The analog time compression system ensures high quality image recording. one million erasure times means virtually unlimited rewitability. 57600 still Pictures or 32 minutes of analog color video can be recorded With 2 channel digital audiosignal in the one side of 300mm diameter disc. As PCM audio area is separated from video recording area. video and audio signals can be erased and recorded independently.
The efficient method for numerical simulation of tape path system behavior in VTR has been developed. This method is effective for parameter survey to optimize a tape path system. Using this method, we also studied the stability of a tape path system behavior caused by twist of guide and regulation of flange.
