A MOS Si-APD image sensor cell without avalanche multiplication during readout period was proposed and simulated for 5.2×5μm^2 photosite. From the simulation results, proposed MOS-APD cell shows three times larger sensitivity than the conventional photosite without any edge breakdown under 20V driving voltage.

N doped hydorogenated amorphous silicon has been newly introduced between pixel electrode and undoped hydrogenated amorphous silicon. The amount of injection charge with new strucure is larger than that of the conventional structure. Therefore, only 10 volts is needed to eliminate the high-light image lag as opposed o the conventional structure which required as much as 18 volts.

An additional fixed pattern noise(FPN) for STACY CCD sensor was analysed and reduced. This FPN is caused by the variation of the read-out transistor characteristics during resetting the storage diode potential. A new "bipolar action" has reduced the transistor variation and has achieved a very low FPN of below 30 ele. p-p.

This paper describes a new method of bias-lighting suitable for ultra-high sensitive HARP tube camera. It is estimated that by the conventional method of bias-lighting, the shot noise of the bias light deteriorates the signal-to-noise performance when the sensitivity of HARP camera is made much higher. But considering the optical absorption and multiplication characteristics of a-Se, it is concluded that the deterioration can be eliminated by giving some short-wavelength light from the beam scanning side of the tube as bias light.

This paper describes signal processing methods for liquid crystal projector. We consider the following items compensated and improved for the realization of high quality image. The optimum system and inter-face for LCD, the CRT's gamma correction and the LCD's characteristic of transmittance for voltage and temperature, the colour reproduction, the uniformity of projection screen brightness. The system for achieving these are composed of the measurement, the calculation, and the digital signal processing circuit.

We have developed a new method using simplified Digital Signal Processing for displaying multiple visual information (9 or 16 kinds of pictures) on the CRT, and produced the television receiver applying these method at Oct.1992. This paper mainly shows the most unique and suitable technique to reduce the impair ment of picture quality caused processing un-synchronous video signal, and describes the new Memory Control LSI for these signal processing below.

A detection method of moving object from the image which is taken by moving camera is reported in this paper. An estimation method of velocity distribution of stationary objects, calculated by gradient method, using Haugh transformation is discussed. That is taking advantage of property that velocity disutributes as circles in velocity space. We propose a method separating a moving object from stationary objects by the estimation method. An estimated velocity of camera movement is examined by simulation and detecing a moving object from images of moving camera is shown.
