Pocklington's integral equation for an arbitrarily shaped strip antenna printed on the thin dielectric film is formulated. The contribution from the polarization charges induced on film are taken into account in this equation. This integral equation is applied to a printed dipole antenna with coil of meander shape.

A circular-disc microstrip antenna with perturbation segments for the circular polarization is analyzed by using the cavity model. The impedance boundary condition is enforced on the apperture of the antenna. By applying the method of least-square to the boundary condition, the electromagnetic fields within the antenna are determined.

The coplanar line printed on the dielectric film of thickness less than 100μm, which consists of a center strip with two ground planes located parallel to and in the plane of the strip, are experimentally analyzed. The characteristic impedances and the dispersion characteristics of this line are estimated from the measured input impedance.

It has been presented that the antenna with different radius can be converted to the uni-radius antenna with the lumped impedance. This method is based on the idea to express the compound transmission line in the loaded line. In this paper, we investigate these two transmission lines, and the validity of this method is discussed.

The recurrence formula of voltages of loaded coaxial collinear antenna (loaded COCO) is derived. By applying the method of moments to the integral equation for the stub loaded COCO, the current distribution is obtained numerically. The effects of loading, those are expected. are obtained and confirmed.

The techniques of triplate-type arrays are useful to decrease the radiation loss of feed line. A number of elements which form arrays can be reduced by using the stacked antenna with high gain as a element of arrays. In this paper, characteristics of triplate-type stacked antenna are experimentally discussed.

In order to develop a receiving antenna for the satellite TV, we proposed a flat antenna system using coplanar array of the Twin Delta Loop Antenna (TDLA) with plane reflector. But there is a demand to have a tilted beam antenna system, in order to receive satellite broadcasting using flat antenna system fixed parallet to vertival plane of wall of a house or building. In this paper, two beam tilt methods for the coplanar array antenna using the TDLA are inverstigated. One is typical phased array method. The other is to use a twin delta loop antenna with different peripherals. The beam of the latter antenna is tilted by the phase difference on each delta loop antenna.

For system design and effective use of frequency bands for mobil communication, it is necessary to know field distribution of along roads where mobil stations move. This paper describes a method of calculation of field strength along roads in a configuration model of buildings, which provides field strength of composite and component waves due to reflection and diffraction and delay time.

This Paper describes a simple model of helicopters for estimating their bistatic scattering in the VHF and UHF bands. It is well known that an aircraft passing by TV receivers often causes the fluttering disturbance. A useful estimating method of the disturbance is already proposed for airplanes, in which an airplane is replaced by a combination of rectangular reflectors. The same method is applied to derive ascattering model of helicopters, and an example of computer simulations of the fluttering is shown by the use of this model.

A dipole antenna printed on the thin dielectric film is numerically and experimentally analyzed, In the numerical analysis, the polarization charges induced on the surface of film are calculated and expressed by known functions. Pocklington's integral equation, which includes the contribution from the polarization charges, is formulated. The calculated input impedances agree well with the measured ones.

In this paper, in order to develop a receiving antenna for the satellite TV, we proposed a flat antenna system using coplanar array of the Twin Delta Loop Antenna (TDLA ) with plane reflector. Several important techniques, for examples, to manufacture the very small TDLA for 12GHz or to design a microstrip balun to feed the balanced TDLA from unbalanced strip line have been introduced to realize the coplanar array of the TDLAs in microwave region like 12GHz. A 256 elements coplanar array of the TDLA are designed and its characteristics are investigated theoretically and experimentally.

In the case of VSB-AM cable transmission of the MUSE signal via satellites, two methods are easily available according to the mode of the modulated MUSE signal : FM mode and AM mode. We have carried out subjective assessments using non-experts as assessors to examine the effects of both satellite channel and cable channel noise on picture quality. The results show that the former is more favorable than the latter from the point of carrier to noise ratio required for the picture quality of 4.

Diversity of recent satellite receiving antenna models and the increasing number of satellite channels make some conventional measuring method out-dated in obtaining the real performance of satellite reception systems. Performance of antennas with non-detachable frequency converters can't be measured with conventional methods and inter-modulation characteristics of satellite tuner units should be measured with all of 8 channels; assigned to Japan by WARC-BS; supplied simultaneously to obtain the actual performance. This paper describes the development of new measuring methods for satellite reception equipment that solve the above mentioned problems.
