By employing an infrared vidicon,we constructed a near infrared absorption imaging system. It was used to obtain the two dimensional distribution of the amount of organic and inorganic substances including -OH, -CH, and -NH groups. These groups absorb near infrared light at the different wavelengths. Therefore it is possible to obtain the separate images of the substances including the different groups. On the other hand, since the substances have the different penetration depths of light, the two dimensional analysis of the depth profiles is also possible. The calibration methods to cancel the instrumental characteristics and to remove the surface scattering effect are also presented.

This paper describes three dimentional stereo video Image display system using optical video link unit which has light transmission device throuth the atmosphere. Optical video link unit possible to long distance (over one kilometer) bidirectional transmission with video signal, stereo audio signal, and other device control signal. We propose tele existence robot aplication using this unit. We have been developed realtime JPEG compression and decompression unit, this unit digitaize received stereo video signal, then compress digital data, and storing HD or MO device. We consider received data are space addressed by robot movement, so we propose virtual reality aplication that is continius video data decompress and display from detected movement of human face direction.

This report describes an application of pipeline image processor to a remote collaboration video system. collaboration needs virtual work-space view generation, non-verbal information support and device free man-machine interface. These require real-time piping execution of multiple image processing functions. In these functions. Geometrical transformation, maker tracking and hand image extraction are implemented to evaluate the capability of a pipeline image processor.

Image Database System is useful for the Computer Graphics production field in which many CG images are handled. Using the Image Database System, we can manage many CG images easily, we can have a live discussion, and we can create them more efficiently. To achieve these environment for CG images, we developed a CG Image Database System which integrated analog image system and digital computer system, and which satisfied required feature about Computer Graphics production field such as 1) need to show images quickly, 2) need of animation, 3) reuse of CG images, and 4) important information about production process of CG images.

We have considered a multi-source standards conversion that enables high-resolution for NTSC. Hi-Vision and computer graphic pictures with different scanning line compositions. It also employs a two-dimensional 3rd order interpolation filter for high-quality enlarged pictures, and a memory-number managed field frequency converter that is free from field distortion.
