The National New-media Festival was held in Kochi Prefecture from October 26th through 29th. NHK, has recorded one of its main events which was entited as "Activating information exchange in regional area." In opening ceremony and paneldicussion, a communication satellite (JC/SAT) was used to enable the interactive live conversation between the venue, Kochi Kenmmin Bunka Hall, and the live site near Shimanto-gawa River. A local Cable TV company made the live coverage of that event.
The hottest season in Tokushima has just come both climately and emotionaly. It is the period of famous Awaodori Curnival. It was the very first time to use the Hi-Vision System for the Live Awaodori show. The title is "The Awaodori on Hi-Vision 95〜the exciting night of A million people." We are cirtain that the viewers did enjoy the vivid sounds and visuals.
This equipment is a support system in order to report urgent disaster information quickly against a viewer around a seismic occurrence. I evoke it carefully against a service person, when I receive seismic intensity information, as I explain an action summary of this equipment and do an automatic selection of an image voice content for broadcast use, automatic start of a broadcast machine. Only if he sends and exits it, push a button a service person can send and exit seismic information of a news.
The position of helicopter, whether it is flying in the area of line-of-sight from base station, is the most important factor in relay broadcast via helicopter. Sufficient information on propagation condition between helicopter and base station, is needed to get good relay broadcast. GPS and 250m-mesh data are introduced to calculate the propagation profile and receiving field strength at base station continuously. Stereographic lines of mountains between helicopter and base station are also indicated to make it easy to keep stable transmission.
A high-performance video and audio signal monitoring system has been developed. The system is composed of our newly developed automatic video and audio detector. The new video detector detects not only decrease in the level of synchronous signals, but also failures of video signals such as picture freeze, cut off (black level), and clipping of the black level. The new audio detector detects the DC level in digitalizing process and a silence in the program accurately. Still more video comparetor which compare the two video signals is developed with the method of comparing the each scanning line's characteristics. The new monitoring sysytem is currently in operation and enable us to operate quickly in the case of TV signal trouble, to offer exerent quality picture and sound.
This paper describes the system for FPU control in new broadcasting center. We have developed a new automatic control sytem for many FPU receiving stations. We can control 18th FPU receiving systems located in Kanto area by this centralized LAN system automatically using scheduled data.
