This paper is introduced the newly developed ghost reduction receiver "GCT 3000" and its small-sized ghost reduction module. The module was The filter equipped with a single chip digital filter LSI "Megapicco". The filter has new architecture which is considered the field ghost characteristic. It realized a good performance in the field test.

One of the inherent disadvantages of the multi-planar 3D auto-stereoscopic displays, e,g. varifocal mirror displays, is the appearance of phantom imaging. This paper describes that the phantom imaging can be suppressed by limiting a viewing zone. Limiting horizontal resolution of display images, is also necessory. By using a 1m-diameter varifocal mirror, a 3D display whose image is 4m-wide, 1m-deep, and 200line-resolution is theoretically found to be feasible. The viewing zone for the display is 16cm wide and 32cm long, large enough for use of the display for amusement machines.

68cm(29inches)-112°-φ29.1mm neck color CRT has been developed aiming to be used in more compact TV sets. The maximum overall length of this tube is 3cm short compare with 108°CRT. The magnetic field of large deflection angle caused defocus at the screen corner. In order to keep the picture quality at the same level as 108°CRT, new EA-UB Gun has developed. This CRT has new GUN, invar mask, coma-free DY system and darktint-panel for high contrast.

We have developed a new dynamic focus circuit for EA-DF lens gun. The circuit boost S-curve compensation voltage using the transformer and its get higher dynamic focus voltage. There is no need to adjust the phase of the dynamic focus voltage. Besides, it can reduce an excess voltage in the retrace period. Because of the simple configuration, it is good for a color television of homeuse.

The 68cm(29") and 78cm(33") color picture tubes with approximately 25mm and 32mm shorter in depth, respectively, than the conventional ones have been developed by the use of 112°deflection angle instead of 108°, and so on. In choosing the deflection angle, studies were made on power consumption, focus performance, vacuum stress, cost, etc. The 32.5mmφ LOLF electron gun has been developed as a measure against focus performance deterioration caused by a wider deflection angle. By the use of these tubes, 68cm and 78cm TV sets with 45cm and 50cm depth, respectively, have been realized.

A 20mm-in-diameter-CRT-lighting-element was developed for the application of outdoor sighnboards, which displayed characters and symbols in some fixed areas of giant display boards. The device performed high average luminance of 20,000〜30,000cd/m^2 in 17mm in diam. with low power consumption of 0.92W. The construction, material, and manufacturing process were studied, so that both high reliability and cost reduction were performed by appliing technologies of pre-formed lenticular panel and printing phosphor layer, high resistive and low-cost materials, and special seal process with frit. The device can be operated even in the outdoor environment of -40〜+60℃, 100%RH.

The lifetime of the DC PDP (Plasma Display panel or Gas-discharge panel) which has resistor in each cell and relatively high gas pressure has been examined, under the operation of pulse-memory drive scheme. Over 10,000 hours-lifetime has been confirmed under the condition of 300Torr(He-xe10%) and Al cathode. The result is agreed with the estimation from the previous experiments with a cell. During the lifetime test, in spite of the decrease of operating voltage, no decrease of operational margin and no change of resistance were observed.

Vacuum Fluorecent Display (VFD) has been used mainly in hand held and desktop equipments because of its limitation of display area . The largest size of VFD's glass envelope with current technology is 350mm length. Although 350mm type VFDs are largely used for wall mount type information boards, the size of display area Is not enough for indoor use public information system. To realize the requirements of size for public information displays , both structure and driving issue have been resolved. As a result, 500mm length VFD, which has two times larger display area compared with existing largest one, has been successfully developed. This paper describes the "World largest" 500mm length VFD and its characteristics.
