We have developed a 1/3-inch 330k-pixel progressive-scan CCD image sensor for image capturing in computers and digital still cameras. Its unit pixel is square and the number of pixels corresponds to the VGA format. We have achieved high resistivity under high light conditions by using the pigments as a coloring material of on-chip primary color filter. Moreover, we have developed a timing generator equipped with an external trigger function suitable for still cameras. By using the system, We can obtain a frame still picture with good color reproduction.

For the purpose of offering a convenient image data input device to the computer, we developed LCD Digital Camera QV-10. It has a built-in TFT-LCD monitor and 2MB flash memory device and is able to take up to 96 images. It is easy to connect to the computer only using RS-232C port. It can not only download the image data into the computer, but also upload the image data which is created by the graphic application on the computer. Here describes the introduction of QV-10 and some technical method using in the product.

We've developed the compact digital camera "DC-1". The DC-1 can record image data that conforms to JPEG compression method and sound data using ADPCM compression method on a memory card. A 24MB memory card can hold up to 492 still images, or 4 motion pictures of five seconds each, or 99 minutes of sound. Features of the DC-1 include, compact and light-weight, record and playback of both still and motion pictures. 10 bit image data processing, full-frame still images, JPEG image compression process, sound recording and playback, interface to PC, CCD image data AE/AWB, sensor AF, compact F2.8 3x zoom of 7-21mm, detachable LCD color monitor, etc. These outstanding features make the DC-1 to capture high quality images possible.
