    We propose "Imaging Plate" for recording images with vacuum ultraviolet spectral region. Imaging Plate, which contains Eu^<2+> : BaFBr crystallites, has been developed mainly for x-ray image recording, we demonstrate that it is useful for vacuum ultraviolet photons from ArF and Ar_2 excimer lasers whose pulse duration in only about 10nsec.

    A square shape pulse of final amplified laser pulse is stably generation by the pulse stacking method. A square pulse of l.8ns duration has been obtained by stacking two pulse of Ins pulse width. It was careful attention to the phase adjustment of two pulse was required to achieved the required stric performance for target shots. We was developed a more stable pulse stacker by introducing automatic phase control.

    分子線を用いた光解離実験で,解離分子の散乱分布を直接的に画像でとらえ,それによって,解離分子の質量分析・速度分布・散乱角度分布を同時に高感度で測定するのが可能になる,という理想的でユニ-クな装置を開発した.また,この方法ではレ-ザ-共鳴イオン化法を使って分子を光電離するので,特定の量子状態にいる分子の画像を得ることもできる.装置の構成は,飛行時間型質量分析器の検出器に蛍光面付きのMCPを取り付け,その高速(<100ns e c)の発光をイメ-ジ・インテンシファイア-で撮影するようになっている.NO_2, HBrといった分子の光分解実験については,従来の方法では得られなかった高分解能で高感度の測定が行われた.その結果,分子が光分解によって量子レベルではどのような変化をおこすか,という光解離現象を基本からとらえる情報を得ることができた.

    An image data processing system has been developed for laser fusion research. This system consists of IR, UV and X-ray cameras, an image data acquisition system and data processing software. Laser profiles and X-ray images are acquired, synchronized with a single laser shot. The image data is transferred to a mainframe computer and processed for analysis. The analyzed results are useful for laser system development and plasma physics for laser fusion research.

    A novel technique measuring the hidden structures of high precision mulilayer optics for free electron lasers and laser stabilization for gravity wave measurements has been developed. The reflected images of sample optics illuminated by wavelength-scanned monochromatic light were recorded and analized. The sharp variation of reflectance at the fringe edge wavelength was analized in terms of internal variation of thickness of thin films.

    A surface-discharge ac-plasma display has been developed, which operates in Abstract full color TV mode with 64 grey levels. A color gamut comparable with that for a color CRT, is achieved by isolated cell structure. The panel is fabricated in a triangular color cell arrangement and in a cells on both side electrodes configuration. One color-unit line formed by two cell-rows is addressed by one scan electrode. These three methods match each other. The writing discharge operation is assured by individual cell priming at l/60 second repetition. Additionally, writing discharge probability is examined.

    So far, we showed the characteristics of Ne+Xe+Kr system in DC discharge, and insisted that the resonance excitation between Xe and Kr have an effect on generating process of Xe ls_4 atoms. In this paper, we investigated the discharge characteristics of Ne+Xe+ Kr in the case of pulse discharge plasma afterglow. Spectroscopic measurments were performed for several wavelengths and discussed the generating process of ls_4 atoms in afterglow plasma.

    Presently the MgO films in ac plasma display panels(ac-PDPs) are deposited by electron beam evaporation method. It is expected that the forming process is simplified by applying screen printing technology. Therefore it is necessary to research the detailed mechanisms of annealing of the evaporated MgO films. So far, the influences of annealing process on evaporated MgO films were investigated by ESCA and FTIR. These results showed that two endothermic reactions were caused of the dehydration of OH groups in MgO films. In this paper, the values of activation energy on each reaction were calculated from DSC measurements. Also we fabricated ac-PDPs with MgO films by screen printing, and investigated problems by ESCA and XRD.
