Paper describes on a principle and results of the measurement of an object width, which is treated by way of the equivalent to a half-value width of a video signal waveform and is determined by counting from positions corresponding to the half-value of edges of the signal waveform. Most reasonable values of edge positions are obtained by counting from the characteristics of signal values detected at each relative move between a object and a television camera. In a general way, the measurement of a length or an area is performed by taking count of pixels accounting for them. This has the error of maximum one pixel in length. In our method, however, it could be confirmed to have high accuracy that the error is within about 10% of one pixel interval.

This display system is constituted of the display panel, driving, signal distributing and display information processing with a computer. The display board is composed of display elements arranged in matrix. The element is displayed in white or black of quadrangle In compliance with the element information of a Image, letter and numeral character. The white-black display operation is performed by a force of repulsion and attraction between an electromagnet and a magnet installed on the rotating display panel. This paper describes on the design and analysis of the circuit of an electromagnetic panel display board made. The time until the finish of the display movement on one element is maximum 250 msec. It was comfirmed that the alphabet-numeral character is exactly and smoothly displayed without trouble at 7×5 matrix elements and that the clearance movement was completely done.
