In order to recognize overlapped figures with computers, it is necessary first to check whether line completion will occur or not in the given figures. This paper first proposes quantitative definition of line completion factors. Next, significance of each factor is examined with the result of a psychological experiment. Finally, the estimating equation of line completion is derived from linear multiple regression analysis. By applying this criterlon, line completion characteristics in human vision is accurately estimated.

The binocular fusion for the moving target was studied in the case of free viewing and set fix point. As a result, the maximum frequency of the binocular fusion is lower than the one for the still taraet. In the measurement of the eye movent, the eye track is likely the trace of the moving target, and the distribution of the eye track velocity is almost concentrated on the target one.

Studies of concept are necessary for the progress in research on memory storing, memory retrieving and user interface techniques for computer systems Although definitions of concept have been often discussed in the filed of psychology, properties of concept formation and recognition processes have not been well investigated. Therefore, the experiments in this study were designed to examine the time required to recognize image concepts and verbal concepts. The results showed that image concepts rather than verbal concepts are primaly used for recognition process, and that recognition times required for the image concepts were shorter than those for verbal ones.

Eye movements for visual search were analyzed to investigate the mechanism of searching a specific visual target actively. A psychological experimented system was designed to operate a vision analyzer from a workstation for deriving loci of eye movements. In the experiments, two different cases were compared : counting number of circles form each stimulus which consists of squares, triangles, and circles, by a normal speed and by a possible fastest speed for each subject. As a result, the number of viewing point was decreased at the fast speed, however, the average viewing time for each point and the speed of eye movement did not show any difference.

We tend to underestimate the length in direction of lines and over-estimate in perpendicular to lines. We did psychological experiments of (1) length estimation in flow field of dot/line textures. From ANOVA and fitting by fouth Fourier series, we obtained that vertical underestimation and oblique effects are dominant for estimation of virtual length.
