"Honto-Cho" was used as a data-book for estimation for building houses by "Daitoryo", who was the chief carpenter under "Edo-Shogunate". "Honto-Cho" is collected in the Hibiya-Libray in Tokyo. The meaning of "Honto" is the standard price of goods originally, and it was used in audit in "Kanjo-Kata"-auditorial government office in "Edo-Shogunate". And then, "Honto" came to be used as the standard labor or trouble of construction works, and the standard wage. "Honto-Cho" was the data-book of the standard labor and wage of carpenter, mason, black-smith, tinman, fixture-carpenter, roofer, scaffold-keeper, lacquerer, painter, and carrier, etc.
