An analytical method is presented in this report to clarify the dynamic properties of a reinforced concrete slab when subject to its vibration coupled with that of the other elemente of a building frame. Then the results of the actual instrumentation of such properties on a large number of building floors, including damaged ones, are discussed using this approach to help theorize various aspects of the behavior of actual slab systems under vibration.

A continuation of the previous observations of the microtremors and microseisms were carried out along the two geological lines which are crossed transversely in the Nohbi plain, by use of the seismometer with 1-second and 5-seconds, the output of which is shunted by a condencer. The digitalized data are analyzed by the FFT method, and spectral forms of analytical results are not only compared with the soil layer thickness corresponding to 1300m in depth, but also discussed with a wave point of view. The horizontal component properties of the microseisms agree nearly with both the wave transfer properties of SH-wave and wave dispersion properties of Love wave. Also, the vertical component properties may be able to explain by Rayleigh wave.

The purpose of this paper is to discuss the statistical distribution of the largest annual ground motion due to earthquakes. The extreme value distributions at 13 stations which are selected from the seismological stations of JMA (Japan Meteorological Agency) are firstly obtained for the period from 1951 to 1974. Similarly, the distributions of the maximum yearly acceleration at 6 points which are a part of the strong motion seismograph network of Port and Harbour Research Institute, Ministry of Transport, are obtained for the period from 1965 to 1974. These distributions agreed well with Gumbel's extreme value distributions of the second type. Corresponding analytical distributions will be given when the Poisson process and Gutenberg and Richter's law of magnitude are established. In this calculation b values of Gutenberg and Richter's law and average annual rate of earthquake occurrences are estimated from the earthquake catalogue for the period from 1885 to 1974. Analytical distributions of extreme values agreed well with observed ones, which are shown in Fig. 4 and 5.

We report the results of statistical analysis on excellence of vertical components of earthquake ground motions based on factor analysis in this paper. Two cases of models were analized. The case-1 has three items, that is, magnitude (M), epicentral distance (⊿) and ground specimen, and case-2 has four items, added to epicentral depth (H). The results obtained are as follows. (1) The order of the influence on excellence of vertical component (A_V) of earthquake ground motions versus horizontal ones (A_H) are as follows; (1) soil specimen (G) (2) hypocentral distance (⊿) (3) magnitude (M). But each item cannot rule the excellence of vertical component by itself. (2) The epicentral depth (H) has not enough an influence on ratio of max. vertical acceleration to horizontal one. (3) Calculated ratio of A_V/A_H by method of statistical factor analysis correlated highly to observed one. (4) In this cases the fluctuation of magnitude have no significant effect upon the ratio of A_V to A_H. The softer relatively the soil, the larger the ratio of A_V/A_H becoomes.

In part 3, the simulation study of the earth surface heat budget on the annual and diurnal variation was described. The earth suruface heat budget is generally consisted of two elements, namely, natural heat and artificial heat released. In this paper, the case study of Osaka district is described. The study area are Osaka prefecture (about 1856km^2), Osaka City (about 206km^2) as a developed region and Sennan district (about 200km^2) as an undeveloped region. The latter two are included the former. The natural heat and the artificial heat released in each district are analyzed in connection with the land uses. The monthly mean erath surface temperature of August is 28.0℃ in Osaka prefecture, 30.4℃ in Osaka City, 27.4℃ in Sennan district. The temperature in Osaka City is higher about 3℃ than in Sennan district. The artificial heat relesed was 174.2×10^12kcal/year in Osaka prefecture, 39.3×10^<12>kcal/year in Osaka City and 7.9×10^<12>kcal/year in Sennan district (1970-1974). Though Osaka City and Sennan district are almost equal area, but the artificial heat released is very different. On the heat budget's component, the sensible heat and the artificial heat released in Osaka City are much larger than in Sennan district, and the latent heat heat in Sennan district is larger than in Osaka City. The heat flow of the nature changes remarkably according to an urban developement.

Special types of housing for the Handicpped are the most important when they intend to come back to their social lives after having finished their training of rehabilitation services. The aim of this report is to evaluate public housing for the Handicapped which they hove already built from a point of view of charactaristic motions of the Handicapped. We collected 75 samples of public housing for the Handicapped in Japan and evaluated it by number of operation of wheelchair access to chamber pot, wash basin and bath tub and their charactaristic motions. Results of evaluation are as follows; 1) Adaptable types of spinal injury (Cervix, Thorax, Lumber) are only 6 types in 75 samples. 2) Typical pattern of adaptable types of cervical injury are setting up a handrail on a side of chamber pot other setting up a handrail on a side of chamber pot and other types are setting up handrail on both sides of chamber pot. It is very difficalt transfer activity to chamber pot for cervical injury about both sides handrail. 3) Almost types are adaptable to only Lumber injury level.

The Waterfront Area has some functions and some spheres. In order to establish states of them, I intended to investigate inhabitants with questionnaires on the assumption that the Waterfront Area has fairly three aspects of functions…… Water Conditions, Functions of Facilities in Waterfront Districts, and the Environmental relation between Water Fronts and Water Courses. Thers are differences in importance for three aspects in differences of city scales, and as a result, Water Conditions are very important in YOKOHAMA city, and Functions of Facilities are pointed important in YANAI city in YAMAGUCHI pref. At the same time the evaluation of the urban living environment in each neighborhoods is pointed out to avail as a basic factor in case of the evaluation of Waterfront Districts. And moreover the geographical relations between Waterfront Districts and Neighborhood Districts… (1) "not having Water Faonts" type, (2) "coastal" type, (3) "facing rivers" type, (4) "penetration of rivers" type, are useful of seizing the satisfaction of inhabitants concerning the Environment of Waterfront Districts.

The main purpose of this study is to investigate actual conditions of the locality in terms of housing circumstances on the city-wide in Japan. In this paper, the author deals with the classification of cities from the viewpoint of urbanization by following process; 1. To study conceptually on the urbanization from the viewpoint of housing circumstances. 2. To attempt a principal component analysis by 40 indices on housing circumstances and to find out the principal component which represents the urbanization. 3. To classify 327 cities in Japan by the factor scores of three FACTORs which represent the urbanization, and to investigate on the geographical distribution of these classified cities. The following fact became clear after the above investigations. The FACTOR 1 means the characteristics of urbanity, and the FACTOR 2 explains the changeability of population, and the FACTOR 3 elucidates the centrality in the regional construction and functions. The author has applied this three FACTORs to classify 327 cities. This classification can explain various characteristics of housing circumstances.

In this paper the hypothesis that we have had in part 1 is proved also at the different area, that is down town area in Tokyo. And we try to make clear theoretically why the space-pattern determines the consciousness. And we try to analize the collective norm consciousness to three layers of consciousness that are "collective consciousness", "mutual comprehensive consciousness" and "collective norm consciousness". Collective consciousness is formed by recognizing the spatial natures of collection. Mutual comprehensive consciousness is formed by mutual understanding of the collective consciousness. And, the collective norm consciousness is also formed by mutual comprehensive consciousness, but in this consciousness he has the disposition to keep the spatial nature even if the others do not keep this norm. By analizing to this three layers, we are able to obtain the determining factors of each layer of consciousness.

This paper is one of works in which I intend to clarify the Carpenter's party by doing a research of it's history through doccuments left by a carpenter's family in Osaka. The organization of each carpenter's party in Osaka will be discussed in this paper. The summary is as follows : The leader of each carpenter's party was called "Kumigashira", and his assistant "Tsukigyoji" which was changed to "Nen-gyoji" during the latter part of 23 parties. In 1843, "Kumigashira" was changed to "Muyori-ninzuaratametorishimariyaku", and "Nen-gyoji" was changed to "Ninzuaratameyaku" under the direction of Nakai. Nevertheless, "Nengyo-ji" was commonly used. In 1854, "Kumigashira" and "Nen-gyoji" was revived.
