In this paper, the auther studies on the disturbance of thermal stresses of reinforced concrete members. As an example, the states of stresses caused by the thermal expansion in the concrete plate with rectangular shape under parabolic or V-shape temperature distribution are investigated theoretically or experimentally. Some of the results of the study are as follows. 1) Thermal stresses of rectangular plate are disturbed near the free end of plate. 2) Tensile stress (chordwise stress σ_y : Fig. 18, 19) by the effect of the free end is caused near the midchord (y=0). Tensile stress is large at 0.5 chord length (1.0c) from the free end but has dropped to practically zero after 1.25 chord length from the tip. 3) It is indicated that the effects of relatively large variation of modulus of elasticity of concrete are not major importance for a plate with a free end.

A new theory was found on the solution of the mean value of environmental openness at an outdoor space, influenced by the many buildings standing at random. And based upon this theory, a new system of codes to regulate buildings was set up, the codes specially useful to regulate skyscrapers of small building coverage, which should not be restricted we think by the old stiff and rigid codes. §1 : Solution to the probability of sightline reaching sky (p_θ) §2 : Solution to the sky amount and the sky facter (The utility of p_θ) §3 : Equivalent diameter of some non-cylindrical buildings §4 : "Index of sky opening" (q), that is the proposed item to show the openness at an outdoor space §5 : "Side view coverage of building" (η=BH/S), that is the main part of the exponent of q, meaning "the ratio of the mean elevation area to the site area" a proposal as a new item to regulate buildings §6 : Solution to the case when the shape of building and the unit area for each building are not constant §7 : Influence of the street area ratio, floor space index, building coverage etc. to the regional environment §8 : Correction to the approximate calculation §9 : Abbreviation

It is significant in planning of those facilities, such as hospitals, old peoples' houses, especially, pysically disabled children's facilities, to know activities of those patients in daily life, from the achitectural view points. In this first paper, we report actural conditions of the patients, such as; kinds of sick, ages, sex, treatment terms, disabled parts, equipments of wards and so on, in the investigated facilities. Total numbers of patients investigated are 1, 388 beds of 7 facilities (3 hospitals, 2 old peoples houses, 2 disabled children's facilities). CONCLUSIONS (A) Hospitals : In general hospitals, there are not many disabled patients (13% of total patients : 4.3% in surgery, 3.8% in plastic surgery). However, in rehabilitational hospital disabled patients are found 28.5% in total patients. As regards of the equipment for the activity of the disabled patients' daily lify, those hospital are not enough designed; a few wheel chairs can be used freely and it is difficult to find out special architectural details for the disabled, on the meanwhile, the nurses for a ward are so few enough to look after them. (B) Old people's houses : The percentage of the disabled in hospitals for the aged and old people's houses are 21% and 11%, and they are also not designed well. Although, the old people in the special treatment facility are almost disabled (70.3%). This facilty is well equiped for the disabled. (C) Physical disabled children's facilities : All of patients are disabled naturally. Remarkablly, almost all of them are disabled in both of their arms and legs. Those facilities are well designed with special hand made equipments. And many nurses, though not enough, are taking care them very well with their special effort.

If we can persume probable future cost according to requirements at the early design stage, we can cost plan adequately with this general guide line. This is true even if for the same kind of buildings, cost statistics obtained by the layered division of cost cause no less deviation from the mean value. So we analysed the building cost or element cost as dependent variance with plural construction planning factors, on multiple regression analysis by forward selection. Also, research was made on the statistic "cost for a guide" according to information available at the design stage, and inquired about the relationship between such variances.
