In the above study I have tried to analyze shore profile in connection with the earth's crustal movements. If the movements are either continuous or intermittent with very small intervals, it is impossible to distinguish the effects of outside forces from those of crustal movements. I have treated a few examples of profile developement in accordance with W. Penck's method. Since change of inclination of shore profile is an important problem, Ihave next dealt with the influence of differential movements on profile. Lastly, evidences are given of the relation between profile and intermittent movements, and a number of schematic diagrams added, showing variations in shore terraces as affected by crustal movements and by intervals of quiescence.
