Heart rate (HR) and work rate (Watt) at the lactate threshold (LT) were evaluated in women with multiple risk factors of diabetes. There were no different in between HR and Watt at LT subjects with impaired glucose tolerance (IGT) and normal glucose tolerance (NGT). The percentage Watt at LT adjusted for body weight (%Watt@LT/kg) was significantly lower in the IGT group than in the NGT group. Multiple regression analysis showed that only the number of risk factors was significantly negatively associated with %Watt@LT/kg.
