The annual stature growth of school children follows a sigmoid course, with a spurt at the beginning of a school year (April to June) and a lull in the later half of the school year (October to March). In country children, about 65% of the annual stature increment is allotted to the first half of the school year, while in town children the percentage is a little lower, about 55%
Corresponding to the seasonal variation of growth in body weight, as already reported from the same laboratory by Kawasaki, there occurs an undulatory variation of Rohrer's index during a year, low during spring and summer and high during antumn and winter

The author investigatd a large family of brandycardia hypotonica (Max Herz), which is far larger than any other ever known.
The toype of inheritance of the disease is that of a simple dominant as it was stated in the domestic and foreign literature. It is, however, noticeable in the present investigation that the affected persons are occasionally born of healthy parents, and that the patients of bradycardia hypotonica are seen in each generation. On the other hand, not a few show the simple bradycardia or hypotona. It is also marked that the gradation between these symptoms and normal condition is observed in varions extents

The author, urged by Professor Hukuda, selected Ubagaimachi in Tochigi Prefecture as an example to investigate the intensity of inbreeding in Japanese villages. This place is the author's home village, where his father has a medical dispensary. The following results were obtained : Among 1279 marriages, both parties of which are living,
    Degree of consanguinity : 4 5 6
    Number of families : 61 3 11
    Percentage : 4.77% 0.24% 0.86%
Hence, the eugenic Index of Inbreeding after Hukuda (1) is
    I=0, 00312,
    or I′=0, 00512,
which means 5.12 % of the total families correspond to the consanguinity of cousin marriage.
Among 47 hamlets, the percentage of cousin marriages of 4 hamlets amounted over 10 %, in a particular hamlet even to 20%.
Incidentally, a family of albinism by cousin marriage was discoverd in a hamlet.

In Island Sado, the author's native place, the percentage occurrence of Colorblindness among school b, ys and girls, 9 to 13 years 'old, was Lund as follows :
It is remarkable that this anomaly is so concentrated in the southern district. The term “colorblindness” is here used in a broader sense, as it is applied to any abnormal result of the color-plate test 4fter Ishihara.

We investigated the menstruation of the telephone-operators in Japanese National Railways. A questionaire method was applied, which was repeated every month from June 1948 to May 1949. This is an interim report for 7 months.
    (1) 276 operators at two telephone operating offices in Tokyo were investigeted, where majority of the examinee were 16-21 years of age. They averaged 3.9 y. on service of Railway, but their experience as operator was 2.6 y. in consequence. of the redistribution after the war.
    (2) The average age of the first menstruation was found M±σ= 15.45±1.22 y., and in its distribution frequency by age, majority (75.8 %) concentrate in 14-16 y., having its peak at 15 y.
    (3) The average length of menstruation cycle was, M±σ=31.75±8.66 days (with 'dpeak of distribution at 31 days), and the average cycle transition, M±σ=17, 8±12, 01 ays.
    (4) If we classify the menstruation, cycle of whichis 23-40 days and transition is within 20 days, as the regular type, and otheres as irregular, the occurrence frequency of the former is 45.5 %
    (5) The menstrual duration is 4, 60 days on an average and its S.D. is 1.38 day.
The duration, types could be classified as follows :
There was found on correlation between the duration type and the cycle type.
    (6) The objective inference Of the menstrual blood was unsuccessful.
    (7) The accompanied Symptoms of Menstruation were very higt in its occurrence, i. e. reported of in 8.8 % of the whole sample. Itemi4ing them, ache of lower abdomen was 45.8 %, headache 27.6 %, huckleache 17.2 %, etc.
    (8) The labour in menstrual period, therefore, was more for less painful, but the grade of pain was moderate in 62.1 % of operators.
    (9) The operators who had to be absent from their service in the menstrual period were 32.3 % of all. In number of days, 2 day's absence amounted to 47.5 % of those operators, which is the highest percentage of absence.
