Continued from Parts 1 and 2, we tried to establish the standards of measurements of clothing for obese children. The samples are the same as Parts 1 and 2. We investigated the correlations between eleven items (stature, sleeve length, back waist length, slacks length, back shoulder width, bust girth, waist girth, hip girth, neck base girth, upper arm girth, and thigh girth) and five items (stature, bust girth, back shoulder width, waist girth, and hip girth). From the relationships obtained and the standpoint of clothing construction we decided basic items of each sex, age group and kind of clothing, and set up the standards of the size of clothing by means of regression estimate. The results are as follows :
(1) Correlations :
With the primary school boys and girls, the degree of association between each of the eleven items and the five items is high.
In the case of the junior high school boys, the eleven items highly correlate to the stature, bust girth and hip girth, while the girls show high correlation between the length items and the stature and also between the girth items of the body trunk and the bust girth and hip girth.
With the senior high school boys, the length items highly correlate to the stature, and the girth items to the bust girth and hip girth. With the girls, the degree of association between the length items and the stature is high and that between the waist girth and bust girth is also high. (2) The standards of the measurements of clothing :
They are shown in Table 2.
