Five cases of diseqeilibrium due to cerebrovascular disorders in the posterior cranial fossa were studied neuro-otologically. The CT scan was effective to recognize the lesion, but this did not always show positive findings in these cases. Neuro-Otological examinations were the most effective technique in the diagnosis of the cerebrovascular disorders.

A case of a man, 71 aged, who has had the right HUNT's syndrome (included VII and VIII cranial nerve symptoms) associated with the contralateral VIII nerve disorder was reported. A case of HUNT's syndrome with bilateral cranial nerve disturbance is very rare. Etiologically, the bilateral cranial nerve disorders may be caused by the multiple mononeuritis due to varicella-zoster virus.

We reported a case of so-called primary tuberculosis of the nose in a 62 years female, who complained of right nasal obstruction and rhinorrea. She was found to have ulceration of the right inferior turbinate. Microscopically, there was the typical findings of tuberculosis with epitheloid cells, Langhans giant cells and caseation. The efficient treatment by SM, INH, Rifampicin was made, and 3 months later there was no abnormal finding macroscopically and histologically. The occurrence of the nasal tuberculosis is rare, furthermore primary one is even more infrequent.

Case 1. A boy, aged 9, showed an abnormal eruption of a decidous canine tooth on the floor of left nasal cavity. Case 2. A girl, aged 6, showed an eruption of a supernumerary canine tooth on the left nasal cavity. Etiologically, these dental abnormalities may be due to congenital abnormalities similar to cleft lip and palate.

A 21-year old female had a swelling and induration on the right cheek. The blood examination showed a increase of eosinophiles (19%). IgE level of serum showed the value 1700 units. Allergic intracutaneous test was negative to candida. The administration of the steroid and antiinflammatory drug reduced the tumorous swelling, but after cessation of them the swelling recurred. Then the patient was treated by irradiation of Liniac in the dosage of 3000 rads. Radiation therapy effectively reduced the swelling, the count of eosinophils and IgE level. The patrent made favorable progress after the treatment.

Three of the six cases were post-intubation granuloma which developed unilaterally in two patients and bilaterally in one. All of those cases were females and had reddish, globular, pedunculated granulomas. The other cases were contact granulomas which developed unilaterally in two patients and bilaterally in one. All of the latter were males and had graywhite or reddish, hemispherical, sessile granulomas. Two cases of unilateral type of contact granuloma recurred several times. One of them was given NK 631, 200mg and was well controlled.

Dynamics of swallowing was investigated in six patients with cerebro-vascular disease (CVD). The data were obtained from simultaneous recordings for four four-channel electromyography and fluoroscopic X-ray video-recording. Three of the patients had scattered lesions in the brain stem and cerebrum (scattered type) and the other three had a lesion localized in the medulla (medullar type). The results are summarized as follows: 1. In the scattered type, difficulty in swallowing is primarily caused by hesitation and slow movements in the oral stage. There were also weakness of the muscular activities in the pharyngeal stage, resulting in a slight disturbance in transporting the bolus through the pharynx. Incoordination of the passage of the bolus and the musclular kinesiology in the pharyngeal stage accelerates the problem, causing aspiration when the larynx goesdown. 2. In the medullar type, difficulty in swallowing is primarily caused by abnormal kinesiology of the muscles during the oral stage and severe disturbance of the reflex mechanism for the pharyngeal stage. As a result, the bolus do not enter the esophagus at all.
