The potency of 8 samples of the purified tuberculin, KPT (obtained by Kurakane's procedure) was compared with that of old tuberculin, OT, standardized by the National Institute of Health in Tokyo, in skin reactions on 2723 pupils, who were vaccinated with BCG before 3-6 months. The results were as follows:
1. KPT 0.1γ dissolved in 0.1cc of saline solution was far inferior in erythema producing potency in all samples than OT against those, vaccinated with BCG, while the former was almost equivalent in its potency to the latter against those, who were not vaccinated.
2. The frequency of the formation of induration, double erythema or vesicle was far higher with 0.2γ of all 8 samples of KPT than that with OT and slightly higher with 0.1γ in those, who were vaccina
