The amount of oily soils deposited on clothes was determined and the yellowing of clothes caused b3 oily soils and contributing factors to yellowing through repeated wear/wash/storage cycle were studied.
The amount of residual oily soils were dependent on each wearer, the kind of clothes and the amount of oily soils on clothes before washing.
It was found that yellowing of clothes caused by oily soils was affected by the amount of oily soils, the kind of fabrics, matters adhering during wash/wear cycles, sunlight, storage term, temperature and humidity.
Clothes undergone the repeated wash/wear cycle without long term storage was kept white by washing. Increasing the period of storage, yellowing of clothes was also increased.

This paper dealt with two experiments on static electrification. One is a basic experiment. The relations have been investigated between static electricity and four experimental conditions, such as temperature, relative humidity, frictional speed and frictional pressure. Another is a practical one, in which static electricity has been determined in taking off man's clothes. An apparatus was constructed to control above four experimental conditions. Density of static charge was measured by using a field mill type electrometer.
The experimental results are as follows:
    1) The significant difference in generation of static electricity has been recognized in materials, relative humidity, frictional pressure and frictional apeed, but unrecognized in temperature.
    2) The regulation of humidity is the most effective to prevent static electricity.
    3) Knitted goods generates larger charge density than woven fabrics do in taking off man's clothes.

In the previous report in the Vol.20, pp.141, 1979, it was revealed that during a domestic laundry the images of colored fabrics were affected by fluorescent brighteners.
In the present report the results are obtained of the experiments which were designed to study colored fabrics emitting of fluorescent light by using same methods as those in the previous report. And the psychological factors were considered in relation to the physical factors.
    The results are as follows.
    1) The visual impressions for the colored fabrics emitting fluorescent light are composed of three factors, i.e., clearness, comfort and lucidity.
    2) These images show a much closer relationship with saturation and quantity of fluorescent light emitted from fluorescent brightners or dyes.
